HAPPY WEDNESDAY!!!

Today is the last day of Febuary. If you noticed, I put up quite a few video clips about black history. I did it because febuary is black history month, and at first, I was going to stop once febuary was over. But then I thought: Wait a minute! I'm black all year, why should I just wait one month out of the year to talk about my people's history and culture? Anyway, Today only exist every 4 years so let's start it with a great smile! Have a great day, everybody.

Africa You Will Never See in HIS-STORY books (crucial info)

Powerful African Empires could never have been built without a written script. Africans were already writing in West Africa and North Africa as far back as 4-3000 BCE.

the "CODE NOIR" (Black Code) was enforced upon the Africans during the European occupation. There are thousands of artefacts, accounts and evidence through out Africa that show Ancient Symbols and / or Medieval written scripts.

The old Mande scripts for example has been dated to 3000 BC by WUSLIN (The prehistoric origin of Northwest Africa) and located at Oued Mertoutek.

Later on TIMBUCTU Script, Sudani Script, Suqi Script all used in the west african empires & Sudan are all different versions of the AFRICAN Arabic script as these BLACK original arabs were represented on the walls of KMT. These different arabic scricpts itself all derived from early highly cursive NUBIAN-EGYPTO scripts which also later became Aramaic and beyond.
Later CENTRAL ASIAN TURKS came into the arab penninsular overthrowing most of the indegenous black population thereby relocating in present day yemen and the horn of Africa and beyond.

Some people don't even realize what they believe.
If you didn't understand the end, that's okay. I realize I was being more than a bit silly and vague. Many theists have used dishonest argumentation with me, which no doubt causes them to suspect that I, too, am using dishonest argumentation (projection), which can ironically cause them to be skeptical about the wrong things. That was the point of the misdirection and subsequent alien.

Pretty pretty please check out my new channel!!!

I believe it is wrong to harm others. That is my opinion, which is subject to change under different circumstances. Furthermore, even my definition of "harm" is subjective. While I believe indoctrination of children is causing harm, there are religious people who see it as vitally important. Our opinions don't get to decide ultimate truth, though. So who is objectively correct? Neither of us. It isn't so simply black or white. Is it better to know a harmful truth or to believe a comforting lie? Which is moral?

If the vast majority of us agree upon what is good or bad for human beings, for all intents and purposes, that can be like objective morality, and I could see how one could justifiably call it objective, but that's not entirely accurate, and I don't wish to call it objective because that implies transcendence, which is baseless. When something is objective, it is true independent of our minds, yet our minds are a requisite of morality. For morality to be objective, you must explain how morality continues to exist if humans cease to exist.

Let's put it another way:

Morality is an emergent property. It is contingent upon there being people who are interacting. If there are no people interacting, then the property of morality is not generated. Therefore it is not a property that exists in the world or universe independent of us. So who decides what morality is? We do.

HAPPY SUNDAY!!!

Well, I'm having a hell of a weekend right now!!! I went out to Venice ad Santa Monica Yesterday. I didn't see Naia Kete sing, but something better happened to me... I ran into my dear friend Danni El!

She was playing entertainment at a bridal shower in Vardo, when I went there for lunch. Well, I had a great lunch, and spent a little time listening to some of Danni's beautiful tunes. I would have liked to stay a bit longer with Danni, Barbora, and my other friends at Vardo, but they were really busy, and besides, it does take a couple of hours to get home from out there.

But... I did have time to stop by another friend's workplace to console and cheer her up, because she's been really depressed lately. You see, that's the thing about Danni. Every time I spend a little time with her, the world becomes a better place for the rest of the day, and I just gotta spread the love.

Anyway, That was my Saturday... let's see what I can get into today.

When you make it a strong habit not to take anything personally, you avoid many upsets in your life. Your anger, jealousy, and envy will disappear, and even your sadness will simply disappear if you don't take anything personally.

A Little Modern Christian Hypocrisy...

Please click on the link below to go to the original article...

Gay Marriage – Modern Christian Hypocrisy | Addicting Info:

February 21, 2012
By Devan Griffith

If you have been listening to the ideas of the Religious Right, especially over the latest Republican primary campaigns, you will see a large push against the gay community. The idea is that things like military service, marriage, and many other “luxuries” of life are not inalienable rights, by definition. Instead, they are defined as privileges. Privileges that are controlled by the social constructs of our society and maintained by religious and national leaders who are known to uphold “Christian” principles (since we are a Christian nation, I suppose is the assumption).

So, are they correct? Is this idea of social constructed privilege of marriage a way to regulate the lives of Americans? Rick Santorum was the latest to argue that it is a primary social ideal to promote reproduction and carry on the human race. Is that the aim? If we were to configure a different definition, could we justify a society that is accepting of other types of marriage? Let me try.

The first, and easiest way, to condemn the way our nation treats the gay community is to look at how Jesus treated adulterers. For those who don’t know how God instructed us to treat them, please look here:

Exodus 20:14 ”You shall not commit adultery.”

Deuteronomy 22:22 ”If a man is found sleeping with another man’s wife, both the man who slept with her and the woman must die.”

Seems rather simple. You cheat, you die. There are other instances of this law, but we can skip that for now. The main idea to disprove this law is how Jesus handled it in John 8:1-11

But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.

At dawn he appeared again in the temple courts, where all the people gathered around him, and he sat down to teach them.

The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group

and said to Jesus, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery.

In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?”

They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him. But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger.

When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her.”

Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground.

At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there.

Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?”

“No one, sir,” she said. “Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.”

In this story, Jesus recognized the inability for society to act upon God’s laws, because of the imperfections of themselves. Now, since we can now assume that people have an inability to judge others, we have no power to judge the lifestyles of others. The idea of us “preventing” a social disease, as the religious right has depicted of homosexuality, is beyond our ability. This should be even more meaningful to Protestants–which have been the leading form of Christians in America–since they believed in “faith alone” to get your place in heaven, and assumed man to be unworthy of God and unable to live as Christ did. The idea that a government or religious institutions could frame the acts of people to make them good is exactly what the Protestant Reformation was AGAINST. But before I ramble, let’s move on to true word of God on marriage. So, rather than a social construct, it seems that marriage is a form from the creator, and not upheld by the society of imperfect humans.

Gen. 2:18, 21-24

The Lord God said, ‘It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him’…and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs and closed up the place with flesh.

Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. The man said, ‘This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.’ For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.

So in Genesis, we see God constructing a union as a form of closeness and special friendship.

Eph. 5:23-32

For a husband is the head of his wife as Christ is the head of his body, the church; he gave his life to be her Savior. As the church submits to Christ, so you wives must submit to your husbands in everything.

And you husbands must love your wives with the same love Christ showed the church. He gave up his life for her to make her holy and clean, washed by baptism and God’s word. He did this to present her to himself as a glorious church without a spot or wrinkle or any other blemish. Instead, she will be holy and without fault. In the same way, husbands ought to love their wives as they love their own bodies. For a man is actually loving himself when he loves his wife. No one hates his own body but lovingly cares for it, just as Christ cares for his body, which is the church. And we are his body.

As the Scriptures say, “A man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.” This is a great mystery, but it is an illustration of the way Christ and the church are one.

Here we see the ideals of sacrifice, love, but also some of that male-dominated lifestyle of the “ideal” Christian world (I won’t get into that just yet). So lets concentrate: marriage is intimate, a companionship, full of sacrifice, and loving. Sounds about right.

1 Corinthians 7:1-2

… It is good for a man not to marry. But since there is so much immorality, each man should have his own wife, and each woman her own husband.

Now here is the kicker!! Marriage is a way to abstain from sexual immorality. Well that’s just it!!! Types of sex like anal, oral, and premarital vaginal sex were put at the same LEVEL platform as adultery, bestiality, incest and other forms of sexual immorality in the law of God! So, through marriage, homosexuals are freed just as much as heterosexuals are. The idea that marriage is for procreation is wrong. Procreation was wanted from God, but not as the sole product of marriage. Marriage does NOT have to have procreation. Marriage is sacrificial, loving, intimate, a source of companionship, and a way to avoid sexual immorality. Any two human beings, as long as they are both consensual, should have the ability to perform this act of marriage.

RIGHT FOR ALL! Feel free to combat me.

An Open Letter To All Mankind

I found this video on You Tube a while back, and I decided to post it here. The letter that went with the video above was taken from www.conspoetry.com Visit this website for more info about thommo and conspoetry.

AN OPEN LETTER TO ALL MANKIND

Please Help Me

I am thommo and I am a human being. I write this open request for help to all other human beings on this beautiful planet we share. The world that I am currently living in appears to be broken. It’s not irreparable, but it is not far off. That’s why I need every one to help me.
In my world, all the resources are used for the financial gain of big corporations and a greedy few that control them. They hold power over the governments in my world and none of them are interested in the needs of their people, in fact, many of them are actively trying to get rid of us. Also in my world, the people are very sick. Unfortunately all our scientists are trained by and have their research paid for by the big corporations. They no longer strive to make life better for us all, merely to make more money. They create cures and then invent the illness. They no longer look to prevent disease, they look to 'treat' it, prolonging the suffering and maximising the revenue stream. They tamper with the genetics of our crops 'for the good of mankind' as if mankind and nature didn't have it pretty well sorted already! Soon all our food will be genetically modified and so will we. Our scientists keep quiet when harmful chemicals and drugs are added to our food and water because if they spoke out they would lose their funding. Our power needs are based on dangerous nuclear power and resource wasting fossil fuels. We have the technology in my world to produce all our power through renewable resources such as solar and geothermal. There is little money in free energy so the corporations block the scientists from finding ways to utilise it for the good of us all. I need your help to set the scientists in my world free so that they can do what they are supposed to.

Many of the people in my world are controlled by belief systems that they have been brainwashed into believing. Deep down in their hearts they know they are controlled, but they are unable to escape. They are bombarded day in and day out by rules and regulations that they must follow. Their religions indoctrinate them with one set of rules they must follow, the corporations indoctrinate them with another which often causes conflict. Television programmes are exactly that, programmes subconsciously altering our state of mind and entering new beliefs without our knowledge. Our music now indoctrinates our children with perverse messages designed to corrupt and entrap them in a sub human existence. The people have been divided and view each other by the colour of their skin, their wealth and social standing and the part of the planet they were born on. They are divided by the politics that is forced on them by the corrupt governments and corporations. They no longer see each as equal human beings, and I need your help to wake them up.

Fear is the emotion most people in my world feel every day. Fear of what they will ‘lose’ if they don’t keep up their mortgage payments or pay the loans and credit cards bills. Fear that they won’t earn enough money to pay for their children’s state controlled education. Fear that they will ‘lose’ their jobs if they don’t perform better and put the company before their own families. They are the lucky ones! People in my world also experience hunger, not knowing if they will eat from day to day. They fear that their children will die of preventable diseases, caught from contaminated dirty water. They fear that in times of drought there will be no help that reaches them from their brother human beings no matter how much we give to charity. Fear that they will be killed in a war against an imaginary enemy, that could ‘appear’ anywhere in the world. Fear that soldiers from another land that don’t speak the same language will see them as an enemy because they have been programmed to believe that they are. Fear that their whole families will be instantly destroyed by an unseen attacker as they sleep in their beds, whilst a teenage soldier thinks he is playing a video game as he pulls the trigger that creates the fear. There is also the fear of dying. The way the governments and corporations treat the human beings in my world, for many that will be the end of their working life. Fear is a very negative emotion when it used as a control mechanism and it stops the people in my world from making positive change. Can you help the people in my world dispel the fear?

In my world the people have been lead to believe that money is the most important thing in their lives. That without it we could not function. This is an illusion that has been created by the wealthy corporations and the governments they control. If the people in my world knew that it was all a massive deception to keep them operating as slaves for the benefit of their masters, they would break free and restore the world back to its natural balance of peace and harmony. They would very quickly learn that we can all work together for the benefit of all mankind without the need for money and the slavery it creates. They would soon learn that money is the barrier to progress, not the result of it and would so learn to cooperate to maintain society the way it should be. The money control mechanism is rooted so deeply into the subconscious that people in my world say they would not bother working if there was no money in it. But there is still hope! I need your help to make the people of my world understand that they are better than that. To understand that they can achieve amazing outcomes just by the power of thought.

As I mentioned previously, my world is currently ravaged by wars. In the last 60 years in my world roughly 20 million people have died as a result of war, however, no politicians or ‘rulers’ have died in these wars. Only the poor that join up as a last resort die, not to mention the poor people that are invaded. Please help me to end the wars in my world. Violence is not the route to peace and love, it is the route to anger, hate and mistrust.

All I ask from you is that you imagine my world the way it should be. Imagine that it is peaceful, no wars at all. Imagine that it is balanced and only what is really needed is taken from nature as we learn to live in harmony with the world. Please imagine my world with no hunger. Imagine that no human being goes without the love that they need. Imagine that money does not exist and that the wealthy have no mechanism to divide and rule my world. Imagine that all human beings in my world work together to create paradise for all to enjoy. Please spend a few minutes a day imagining what I ask and my world will surely change for the better. You may even notice that there are things in your world that are not right and need changing. If you change what is wrong in your world, my world will also be changed for the better. There are nearly 7 billion people in my world and we are all equal. I believe that my world will change for the better, and I thank those of you that chose to help me change my world. All it takes is a little bit of empathy and compassion. Maybe that will be the reason that you pass my letter on to all the human beings that you know, so that they may decide whether or not to help me change my world and yours in the process.

Thank you,

Peace Love & Respect.

The Latest from The Raw Story

Jon Stewart rips Republican fear-mongering over Obama: ‘You have lost your d*mn mind’ | The Raw Story:

By Eric W. Dolan
Thursday, February 23, 2012 0:02 EST

On his show Wednesday night, The Daily Show host Jon Stewart lampooned Republican politicians who demonized President Barack Obama in 2008 as a radical socialist who was weak on terrorism.

He noted Obama had failed to live up to many of the campaign promises that his opponents made for him, like “completely socializing” the economy, letting radical Islamists dance in the streets, taking away Americans right to bear arms, and “eliminate freedom of speech” for radio show hosts Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity.

“That was all in 2008, there was a lot of fear-mongering and doom-saying, but by now we have pretty much seen Obama’s first term,” Stewart said. “It looks like conservatives got a little bit kicked in the crystal balls on this one.”

“You might not be thrilled with Obama’s results, but clearly he has not been the citizen-disarming al Qaeda-coddling Limbaugh-muzzling catastro-fuck that the Republican sleuth-sayers were saying in 2008. So what do you do in 2012?”

Stewart then played a number of clips of Republican politicians engaging in the same kind of hyperbolic rhetoric they had used in 2008.

“Ya’ll have lost your damn mind,” he said. “If Obama hasn’t been able to pull any of that shit off during the first term of his presidency, what is he waiting for?”

It turns out, Obama’s whole first term was just laying the trap.

TIMBUKTU: Untold Black History Pt. 2

Video Description from You Tube:

Uploaded by dfolks15 on Jun 11, 2011

For many years people all over the Alkebulan continent and many parts of the world travelled to Timbuktu for knowledge and trade. There were three great Universities of Timbuktu: University of Sankore, Djinguereber and Sidi Yahya. The University of Timbuktu had four degrees or levels in its curriculum. They learned and mastered books of sciences including the Holy Quran, learned the Arabic language and to communicate and write effectively in various Alkebulan languages. Alkebulan held the world's first educational centers for true knowledge and spirituality. But, this is not what we are taught in this western world made up society.

WAKE UP BLACK PEOPLE!! And, know that we gave the world everything. Never think that your people have not contributed to civilization, because it all started with YOU!! Teach your children the truth about who they are and what they mean to the world, because they are our future. Hotep!

TIMBUKTU: Untold Black History Pt. 1

video Description from You Tube:

Uploaded by dfolks15 on Jun 6, 2011

This video opens up with an Alkebulan (African) father telling his son a story of how mighty the lion was in his domain. The son was so amazed by the story that he found so much pride and confidence in himself. So, he decided to go to school in America. And, when he got there they too were telling of a story of a lion, but they said that the lion was weak and got defeated by the weakest of animals.

Symbolically this is the same exact story of Alkebulan (African) people all over the planet. We were a great and mighty people and allowed ourselves to get defeated by the most weakest genetic genes on earth.

In the video they also speak of how it was Alkebulans (Africans) who first sailed the Atlantic Ocean 200 years before Christopher Columbus. And, that's not even his name, his real name is Cristobol Colon who got lost on his way to America. It was the Caribbean that he landed on. So why are they still celebrating Christopher Columbus Day? What did he do? Could it be that it was he who started the Atlantic Slave Trade going? Will they teach that in our history books?

Also, Mansa Musa liked how life was in Alkebulan (Africa), that he went to other parts of the world to get foreign scholars to teach there. But, he realized that these other so-called scholars paled in comparison to the native Alkebulans. So, why are we looking to other people to tell Our Story. We must tell and write our own story like we used to. Learn your Black History and stop showing each other so much HATE!! And, MAN KNOW THYSELF! HOTEP

SUNDAY SCHOOL VIDEO

There are many things in Islam that I find very beautiful. But this... this I just find disgusting.

The Koran tells Muslim men that they can take non-muslim women as "war booty". They want war because they want sex-slaves here on Earth and in Heaven.
http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/quran/004.qmt.html#004.024

From the earliest years of Islam to the present day, Islamists trade in non-muslim slaves for sex.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2004/mar/11/highereducation.books

From the streets of European cities, where protesting muslims call for war to take women as "war booty", to the sharia courts of Nigeria, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, Shari law makes convicting a man for rape impossible, because of the need for 4 male witnesses and the "crimes" the woman has committed by being raped.

This leads to massive under-reporting of rape in these countries. Muslims will point to the numbers of rapes in the USA, where rape within marriage is a crime, as is wife beating.

This is only an attempt to distract from their corrupt and misogynistic sharia laws and societies.

Where do men stand in all this? | Women Under Siege Project

Where do men stand in all this? | Women Under Siege Project:

By Lauren Wolfe/Women Under Siege Director — February 15, 2012

Let’s blame men. Many of us do—many women and even men blame men for the mass rape of women in war. It’s easy to point our fingers and name the perpetrator. But what if we were to step back and ask how men can actually be part of the solution? It requires a couple of basic assumptions.

First, that not all men can (or would) rape women in war. The second is that we’d have to think of “men as actual and potential agents of change for gender justice.” That’s what Dean Peacock, executive director of the South Africa-based Sonke Gender Justice Network says.

In a paper presented at the end of January 2011 to the Vienna Institute for International Dialogue and Cooperation, Peacock (who is also the co-chair of the Global MenEngage Alliance) asserted these ideas and more. In fact, he names power imbalance as a root cause of sexualized violence in conflict, as do we here at Women Under Siege.

“Whether in war or peacetime, the perpetration of sexualized violence is driven by socially sanctioned male dominance over women—and over socially weaker men, and children—by notions of manhood and power that valorize sexual conquest and give powerful men a sense of entitlement with no consequences, as many male politicians have shown us,” Peacock says.

Compare that with Gloria Steinem’s words in a Q&A I recently did with her about founding Women Under Siege: “Even in peacetime, the ‘cult of masculinity’ is so powerful that men commit crimes in which they have absolutely nothing to gain and everything to lose: ‘senseless’ killings like those in schools and post offices, serial murders, domestic violence, stalking, killing their wives and children and then killing themselves. They’re not hate crimes because they don’t hate the people they kill—but those people symbolize their lack of control, and so are killing the ‘masculinity’ on which their whole sense of self depends. In interviews, such men often describe themselves as victims because they believe they should have been allowed to have control. I think we should call such crimes ‘supremacy crimes.’”

Peacock describes a “continuum in the forms of violence used by those who have power to subjugate and those who do not,” and he wants us to consider that “there are differences in the way people can access and wield power which we need to examine carefully if we want to succeed in challenging the discrimination that results from the misuse of such power.”

Misuse of power leads to what Steinem is calling “supremacy crimes.” I think we’re on the same page here. So what do we do about it? Peacock has some ideas.

“To resolve sexual violence in conflict we’re going to need similar deep wells of imagination and courage, alliance-building, political will and intellectual support,” he says. “We’re also going to need serious, measurable and universally agreed on systems of accountability, something we currently lack.”

He goes on to say that money is crucial toward creating an overall solution. As a member of the advisory council to the Nobel Women’s Initiative’s Campaign to End Gender Based Violence in Conflict, he joins the campaign in calling for a billion dollars a year to be made available to address violence against women. That money—wherever it will come from—would go toward providing women with emergency services and toward fixing what’s broken—and, let’s admit it, a lot of things are broken here—including justice systems (hear the word “impunity” loudly and clearly in your mind), and cultural attitudes that embrace what Peacock calls “exclusionary, male-dominated systems of power that allow men, no matter their class, race or creed, to trivialize and normalize their own and other men’s violence against women, other men, and children, to laugh it off, including through verbal violence, and to treat it as a private matter without fear of serious sanction from either the state or their friends.”

Interestingly, Peacock also focuses on the image we paint of men, especially in the global South, as part of the problem: Particularly men in Africa, he says, “are portrayed quite uniformly in the Western media as perpetrators, supportive, silent indifferent bystanders, callous and stigmatizing, likely to ostracize and abandon their wife, girlfriend or daughter if she is raped in conflict. They are also characterized as unable to empathize with the suffering of men whose families are victims, and seen as homophobic, incapable of and unwilling to support or acknowledge men who have themselves survived sexual violence.”

Such characterizations “deter women and men from seeking assistance from men who might otherwise provide love and support, they reinforce negative stereotypes, alienate many men and sometimes generate a backlash against women’s rights; and they decrease the likelihood that men will be mobilized as advocates for change and for gender justice because they close the space for alternative expressions of masculinity to be celebrated,” says Peacock.

Sweeping generalizations never helped anyone, and it’s certainly not going to help end sexualized violence in conflict. Humans are irritatingly complex, and it helps in this case, as in others, to see them as such. For instance, we know that some men have been made to rape in war by their superiors, who may threaten to beat or kill them if they do not.

By recognizing that men feel deep shame and anger that their wives or family members have been raped, or even experience sexualized violence themselves, Peacock is not only recognizing our human complexity, he is saying that we must work with these men to put an end to rape in war.

His work at Sonke focuses on mobilizing these men to speak out and stop other men’s violence. He runs something called the One Man Campaign that “affirms that men have a positive role to play in bringing about change and provides them with sequenced opportunities to reflect on the costs they bear when they adhere to rigid notions of manhood.”

I like this. And I like that the campaign calls on men to act on their convictions that violence is wrong and that it can be stopped. When there is hope, there is possibility. Let’s see what we can do here.

Now, back to Black History...

Someone posted this on facebook, and I thought I'd post it here too. Click on the title below to go to the original article.

Letters of Note: To My Old Master:

In August of 1865, a Colonel P.H. Anderson of Big Spring, Tennessee, wrote to his former slave, Jourdon Anderson, and requested that he come back to work on his farm. Jourdon — who, since being emancipated, had moved to Ohio, found paid work, and was now supporting his family — responded spectacularly by way of the letter seen below (a letter which, according to newspapers at the time, he dictated).

Rather than quote the numerous highlights in this letter, I'll simply leave you to enjoy it. Do make sure you read to the end.

UPDATE: Head over to Kottke for a brief but lovely little update about the later years of Jourdon and family.

(Source: The Freedmen's Book; Image: A group of escaped slaves in Virginia in 1862, courtesy of the Library of Congress.)

Dayton, Ohio,

August 7, 1865

To My Old Master, Colonel P.H. Anderson, Big Spring, Tennessee

Sir: I got your letter, and was glad to find that you had not forgotten Jourdon, and that you wanted me to come back and live with you again, promising to do better for me than anybody else can. I have often felt uneasy about you. I thought the Yankees would have hung you long before this, for harboring Rebs they found at your house. I suppose they never heard about your going to Colonel Martin's to kill the Union soldier that was left by his company in their stable. Although you shot at me twice before I left you, I did not want to hear of your being hurt, and am glad you are still living. It would do me good to go back to the dear old home again, and see Miss Mary and Miss Martha and Allen, Esther, Green, and Lee. Give my love to them all, and tell them I hope we will meet in the better world, if not in this. I would have gone back to see you all when I was working in the Nashville Hospital, but one of the neighbors told me that Henry intended to shoot me if he ever got a chance.

I want to know particularly what the good chance is you propose to give me. I am doing tolerably well here. I get twenty-five dollars a month, with victuals and clothing; have a comfortable home for Mandy,—the folks call her Mrs. Anderson,—and the children—Milly, Jane, and Grundy—go to school and are learning well. The teacher says Grundy has a head for a preacher. They go to Sunday school, and Mandy and me attend church regularly. We are kindly treated. Sometimes we overhear others saying, "Them colored people were slaves" down in Tennessee. The children feel hurt when they hear such remarks; but I tell them it was no disgrace in Tennessee to belong to Colonel Anderson. Many darkeys would have been proud, as I used to be, to call you master. Now if you will write and say what wages you will give me, I will be better able to decide whether it would be to my advantage to move back again.

As to my freedom, which you say I can have, there is nothing to be gained on that score, as I got my free papers in 1864 from the Provost-Marshal-General of the Department of Nashville. Mandy says she would be afraid to go back without some proof that you were disposed to treat us justly and kindly; and we have concluded to test your sincerity by asking you to send us our wages for the time we served you. This will make us forget and forgive old scores, and rely on your justice and friendship in the future. I served you faithfully for thirty-two years, and Mandy twenty years. At twenty-five dollars a month for me, and two dollars a week for Mandy, our earnings would amount to eleven thousand six hundred and eighty dollars. Add to this the interest for the time our wages have been kept back, and deduct what you paid for our clothing, and three doctor's visits to me, and pulling a tooth for Mandy, and the balance will show what we are in justice entitled to. Please send the money by Adams's Express, in care of V. Winters, Esq., Dayton, Ohio. If you fail to pay us for faithful labors in the past, we can have little faith in your promises in the future. We trust the good Maker has opened your eyes to the wrongs which you and your fathers have done to me and my fathers, in making us toil for you for generations without recompense. Here I draw my wages every Saturday night; but in Tennessee there was never any pay-day for the negroes any more than for the horses and cows. Surely there will be a day of reckoning for those who defraud the laborer of his hire.

In answering this letter, please state if there would be any safety for my Milly and Jane, who are now grown up, and both good-looking girls. You know how it was with poor Matilda and Catherine. I would rather stay here and starve—and die, if it come to that—than have my girls brought to shame by the violence and wickedness of their young masters. You will also please state if there has been any schools opened for the colored children in your neighborhood. The great desire of my life now is to give my children an education, and have them form virtuous habits.

Say howdy to George Carter, and thank him for taking the pistol from you when you were shooting at me.

From your old servant,

Jourdon Anderson.

Now, wasn't that one of the best FUCK YOU letters you ever read?

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!

That's right boys and girls, it's Valentine's day. But the thing is, I don't have a wife, girlfriend or sweetheart to send a valentine to today.

But there are 3 special ladies out there whom I've met over this last year, who constantly inspires me to strive to be a better human being, for myself, and everyone around me, simply by being their wonderful selves, and if anyone deserves a special valentine message, they do. Their names are Danni El, Madison Moross, and Phannie Haver.

If you read this blog, you know who they are, but I'm going to tell you a little bit about them anyway.

Danni El is a very beautiful and talented musician who I met one sunny afternoon last April on Hollywood Blvd.

Click HERE to get a small taste of what she can do.

Madison Moross and Phannie Haver, are two beautiful and amazing dancers who created Radiance Movement, a dance studio dedicated to providing dancers with exceptional training while sustaining the body without injury, as well as making the joy and benefits of dance and meditative arts accessible to everyone in the community.

Click HERE to watch a video about Radiance Movement.

They also have a non-profit organization called The Big P Project, but I'll let the video below explain what it is in more detail...

Click HERE to see the video.

Before these 3 special ladies came into my life, I lived a bit of a sheltered life. I didn't care that much about things like caring about your fellow man, living a sustainable life, meditation, nature, etc. I mean I read about that stuff before, talked about how I wanted to do it, hell, I even did a little Yoga. But Honestly, I realize now I never had the courage to even try to live my life the way I wanted. But after meeting Danni, then Madison and Phannie, who actually live their lives their way, instead of just talking about what they wish to be or how they wish our world was, I was inspired to step out of my little box, and give the outside world a little look.

And, to make a long story short, I like what I see, and I'm not stepping back into my box.

Anyway, Danni, Madison, and Phannie, this message is for you.

If I could give each of you one thing in life, it would be the ability to see yourselves through my eyes, so you would know how special you are to me.

Well, that's it. Not romantic I know, but it is how I feel about you.

Anyway, to everybody out there in cyberspace, and especially to you ladies,

If you have the eyes of love, you just see love wherever you go. The trees are made with love. The animals are made with love. The water is made with love....When you perceive with love, you become one with the birds, with nature, with a person, with everything.

Danni El - Rain drops

Here is Danni El performing at O'briens pub and Restaurant in Santa Monica Ca. last Tuesday night... It was a true priviledge watching her perform. A BIG thanks to Paola Pierantoni for recording this and uploading it to You Tube. I keep telling myself that one of these days I'm gonna get a camera or cell phone so I can catch these kind of performances... It's DEFINETELY on my to do list now.

Anyway, in case your too lazy to find Danni El's Links on the sidebar, here's where you can visit her online:

http://www.facebook.com/Danni.music3

http://Youtube.com/DanniElmusic

http://Twitter.com/Danni_Elmusic

It's all about making connections...

As anyone who reads this blog should know, 2 nights ago I went down to O'briens Irish Pub and Restaurant in Santa Monica for the Music, libations and boot stompin at O'briens... And I had the time of my life!!! I know I should have posted about this as soon as I got home that, but... I didn't.

Of course the bus and train ride going out there wasn't a picnic. But all I'm going to say about that is It wasn't a bus ride, it was an adventure...

When I got off the bus about a couple of blocks from there at Main st. and Sunset in Venice, I walked up about a block or so to Vardo, where there was a little pre-performance party going on. You see, the performers at O'briens worked at Vardo, and their friends and co-workers were there to support them and show them some love.

Anyway, when I got there, I saw Alejandro Wood and greeted him, then Danni El came up and gave me one of those huge love-hugs. I chatted with them for a couple of minutes, then they went over to O'brien's first to set up. A couple of minutes later, I walked with Barbora Fagan and my other friends from Vardo up to O'briens. And, after a few minutes of preparation with lighting, sound, etc. the Party got under way.

First up was Lacey Cowden. I said before that she had to be good if she was performing with Danni and Alejandro. Well... she was fantastic! She sang like 5 amazing songs, and when she was done, people kept asking her for one more... and so was I. Now the curious thing was that there was a guy who performed a song before Lacey, and played with her on her first song. This is one of the most annoying things about typing this post so late... I asked this man for his name specifically so I could give him a shout out in this post, and for the life of me, I can't remember it. Anyway, he was great too, and as soon as I find out who he is, I'm going to mention him.(I remember it now. It's Geoffery Martin)

Next up was the Amazing Danni El. She was accomanied by percussionist Nick Ware, a friend of mine from Radiance Movement. And speaking of Radiance Movement, Madison Moross was also there, and she invited me to an art show they're having this Saturday night. Anyway, Danni and Nick performed about 5 deep, soulful songs that moved me to my core. I enjoyed them very much, and Like Lacey before, when she finished her set, I didn't want her to stop either... Man, I could listen to Danni all night. But, all good things must come to an end even if you don't want them too.

And last, and certainly not least, was "Alejandrizzo". He rocked the house with his songs and had the ladies Dancing... And then comes the part of the evening I hated the most. I had to leave.

And what's worse, I had to do it before Alejandro finished his set. Anyway, I promised Danni that I would leave her a message as soon as I got home, and I embarked on a long, uneventful bus ride back home.

Anyway, the last thing I'm gonna say about last Tuesday Night is, I HAVE GOT TO DO THIS AGAIN!!!

P.S. Danni, I hope you liked the cookies...
