HAPPY MONDAY!!!

Joy is my choice. I choose joy in every moment.
~Jonathan-Lockwood Huie

HI FAMILY!!!

“Never, never be afraid to do what's right, especially if the well-being of a person or animal is at stake. Society's punishments are small compared to the wounds we inflict on our soul when we look the other way.” ― Martin Luther King Jr.

Today, as we celebrate MLK Day, we should not forget the ideals he, and many others fought for.

Even though I have a blog, I'm not too good with words. So, I'm gonna post this little video I found on You Tube that talks about this subject.

I'll end with this quote:

“First they came for the communists, and I did not speak out— because I was not a communist; Then they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out— because I was not a socialist; Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out— because I was not a trade unionist; Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out— because I was not a Jew; Then they came for me— and there was no one left to speak out for me.” ― Martin Niemöller

----------THE MUSIC CORNER----------

Today, I'm bringing back the music corner, where I feature music and musicians that I think are, for the lack of a better word, awesome!!!

Today, I'm featuring one of the best bands in the world, "THE KI". O.K., Now Let's start the day with "BREATHE" by The KI.

--------------------CLICK HERE TO WATCH--------------------

FROM THEIR WEBSITE WWW.THEKI.ME:TheKI is an ensemble that fuses pop, jazz and electronic music with modern and ancient wisdom. With Roxie Sakura as the lead singer, theKI features conservatory-trained members who have performed with world-class artists such as Stevie Wonder and John Legend, along with spoken word artist Sean Raymond Hill. As a Iranian-Japanese-American, Roxie is dedicated through her songwriting and activism to shining light on some of the darkest injustices and inner struggles still facing women worldwide today, and recently performed for LA Rising for Women as part of V-DAY's One Billion Rising. "KI" stands for "energy" in Japanese; theKI combines beautiful instrumental arrangements with digital grooves to create movement, dance, and transformative moments of inner reflection. By making darkness conscious, as Carl Jung wrote, theKI exists to expand this awareness by first inspiring and empowering the individual.

ALSO FROM THEIR WEBSITE:

"When we say that this project is about something bigger, we’re talking about bringing awareness through music to the real issues facing our society and our world. At its core, this project is not just about the struggle within, but emerging as one more voice in the movement to combat the abuse, in all its forms, of human rights and freedom.
Together we must end our acceptance of violence, abuse, rape, and addiction as everyday realities. We must stop accepting the discrimination of women, of cultures, and of beliefs that lead to these abuses of human rights. When we talk about unlocking your warrior within, we mean that every person must conquer and master themselves before we can expand into our communities and our world to help others. Music and art have always been one of the strongest forces of change. Our goal is to create incredible art that represents the first step in one more movement to eventually stop the innumerable daily horrors on our planet. Our goal is to have our message heard on the national stage and worldwide. If you believe in the power of music and art to transform the planet, please join us now by becoming a part of our community."

It is an HONOR for me to be a part of THEKI community, and to share their vision.

Here's a video of a performance they did at the URBAN CAFE in Santa Monica, Ca. at a event called, SLAM UP TO VIOLENCE, hosted by the Greater Los Angeles USNC for UN Women on May 13th, 2013.

I hope they liked the cherries I bought them that night...

Today I propose that you start a brand new relationship with your physical body. I propose that you treat your physical body just as you would treat a precious loved one in your life.
