THE SYMBOL OF PUKULAN CIMANDE PUSAKA SANDERS AMERICAN PENCAK SILAT
I want you to look at the picture above. This picture is now the official logo of PUKULAN CIMANDE PUSAKA SANDERS AMERICAN PENCAK SILAT(PCPS for short).
In case you don't know, PCPS is a modern form of Pencak Silat which ia a variation of an old style of Pencak Silat named CIMANDE.
It is a martial art that works in all ranges. It includes fighting while in a grounded position, grappling, fighting multiple opponents, the use of several unique edged and impact weapons, unique animal styles, and a whole system of meditation and metaphysical development which includes internal energy development exercises, and many spiritual techniques designed to draw the four elements (water, earth, fire, air) into the body for various combative and spiritual purposes. Although there aren't many students of PCPS Pencak Silat compared to other silat systems, but there are students of this art around the world:

And in addition to Pencak Silat, He's also learned traditional Irish stick fighting, and the art of San Michele Italian knife fighting from Don Vito Quattrocchi
OK, now back to the logo.
The logo, or symbol, utilized by most Martial Art styles, and Pencak Silat in particular, is supposed to represent all of the major aspects taught by that particular Martial Art system. It's the system's calling card, a constant reminder for the practicioner, and everyone else who knows it's symbolism, of the unique aspects of the system he or she is learning, teaching, and representing.
PCPS is no different. Below, is part of a recent post Pendekar Sanders made in our private Facebook group page about what our logo is, and what it represents.
1. MAS JUDS HIGHEST SINGLE ASPECT OF HIS ART WAS THE SNAKE. BUT WHEN WE ADD ALL THE ANIMALS TOGETHER, THE HIGHEST RESULT IS THE NAGA. THE NAGA IS USUALLY SEEN AS GOLDEN. SO HERE WE HAVE A SNAKE AND NAGA AS ONE ! THE HIGHEST ASPECT OF THE ANIMALS AND THE COMBINATION OF ALL OF THEM AND ALL ELEMENTS TOGETHER IN THE GOLDEN SERPENT PICTURED.
2 IN ORDER FOR US TO BE ABLE TO USE THESE ANIMALS AND ELEMENTS WE MUST BE ONE WITH THEM AS WE MOVE AND FIGHT, SO YOU CAN SEE OUR HAND INSIDE THE HEAD OF THE NAGA-SNAKE , WE ARE ONE , THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO THE ART.
3 THE NAGA-SNAKE IS COMMING UP OUT OF THE ROSE IT HAS BEEN HIDING BEHIND BECAUSE THE BEAUTIFUL FLOWER HIDES THE DEADLY PORTIONS OF THE ART ( THE BEAUTIFUL MOVES ) AND THE NICE SMELL OF THE ROSE LURES IN THE OPPONENT SO THE NAGA-SNAKE CAN STRIKE.
4 NOTE THE NAGA SNAKE MOVES UP IN SPIRALS, THIS COILING AND UNCOILING OF MOVES IS HOW WE GENERATE ENERGY AND POWER. SPOKEN OF IN THE METHODS OF PROPER USE OF THE BODY AND BREATH DVD.
5, COUNT THE THORNS ON THE ROSE, THERE ARE FOUR THIS IS THE FOUR ANIMALS AND EARTH WIND, FIRE AND WATER THAT COME TOGETHER TO MAKE THE NAGA SNAKE. THEY ALSO SYMBOLIZE WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF SOMONE MAKES THE MISTAKE OF GRABBING US!
6. LOOK AT THE PART WHERE YOU CAN SEE THE HEAD AND UPPER BODY OF THE NAGA SNAKE, IT IS IN LIGHTNESS, LIKE THE SUN. HERE THE FULL POWER AND DEADLINESS CAN BE SEEN, BUT LOOK BELOW THE FIRST COIL AND YOU WILL A SHADOW REMEMBER THE TERM SHADOW DRAGON WARRIOR? IT MEANS ALL THE MOVES ARE HIDDEN AS IF IN THE SHADOWS BEFORE THE OPPONENT CAN SEE THEM !! A MASTER OF ILLUSION IN MOVES AND STRIKES ( FROM SERA DEPOK ) ALL OF THIS IS HAPPENING INSIDE A CIRCLE, OUR PERSONAL CIRCLE OF CREATION !!!
Yes. As you can see, a great deal of thought went into the creation of this symbol. Those of us who practice PCPS wear it proudly, for every aspect of this beautiful art is in this one symbol. Currently, this is the only symbol of the art that we have.
The ONLY symbol that we need.
