QUARTET SAKURA MAKES IT'S DEBUT!!!

So, What is Quartet Sakura?

Quartet Sakura began as a collaboration between vocalist Roxie Sakura and drummer/producer Alex Platt. Conceived as a fusion of traditional jazz influences with a contemporary pop repertoire, Quartet Sakura soon brought the co...nsiderable arrangement skills of David Johnson (piano) and David Hilton (bass) into the mix. By injecting a highly dynamic and energetic jazz combo energy to their arrangements of modern popular songs such as "Ordinary People" by John Legend, "Take A Bow" by Madonna, as well as traditional jazz standards like "Ruby My Dear" by Thelonious Monk, Quartet Sakura's music both engages and entrances.

Quartet Sakura will be making its debut performance on Thursday, March 28th at the River Rock Lounge, 12833 Ventura Blvd, Studio City CA. Showtime is at 8:00 PM and admission is absolutely free!

Their debut EP, "Quartet Sakura" will be available at the Performance.

If anybody out there would like an evening of beautiful, soulful jazz, come on out! I promise you, it will be a night to remember.

For a small taste of what your gonna get this thursday night, here's vocalist Roxie Sakura singing in Holy Night

HAPPY SUNDAY!!!

Today is my day to honor my being,
~Jonathan-Lockwood Huie

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!!!

We view consciousness as one continuum, from the highest vibratory levels where non-duality is the reigning principal, down through the realms of light into the realms of matter. There are vibratory boundaries, for sure, but the worlds of matter are just as “sacred” as the highest realms of light and pure consciousness.

When you attain this realization you will have access to all dimensions of your being, which will increase your spiritual courage, capacity for deep insight, and creativity, as well as your healing/self-healing abilities.

Well, it's time for another SUNDAY SCHOOL VIDEO... This week it's part 1 of episode 4 of "DISCOVERING RELIGION".

VIDEO DESCRIPTION FROM YOU TUBE:

Uploaded on Mar 20, 2010
***NOTICE*** Please turn on your annotations for this video. I have made several minor continuity errors and I have corrected these mistakes in the annotations. Thank you.
,br> The fourth installment of my original series, "Discovering Religion". In this two-part episode I examine just 4 of the innumerable problems that arise if the Flood Myth is accepted as a literal, historical event.

Problem 1.)
The emergence of predatory animals after the Flood and the conflicts that arise if present-day carnivores consumed only vegetations during the 1,556 from Adam to Noah's son, Shem.

Problem 2.)
The implausibility of a Human-Dinosaur coexistence and how such an absurd idea contradicts everything we know about life on Earth and the timeline of events in our solar system.

Problem 3.)
The great many conflicts that arise between the Flood event and the knowledge the Earth once contained a super-continent known as Pangaea -- namely, if the Flood really did occur, how did marsupials and penguins make the journey back to their respective isolated continents, the only place they are and have always been naturally found to exist.

Problem 4.)
The inability for creationists to reconcile the young earth view with the astronomical evidence of a universe that appears many billions of years old. Creationists often weasel their way out of honest scientific debate by claiming carbon dating to be inaccurate or bringing into question such natural processes as sediment deposition. However, ancient starlight traveling many billions of light years to reach our planet is the most concrete evidence the Earth and the Universe are indeed many billions of years old and the myths like the Creation and the Flood cannot be taken literally.

Each New Day Let me pause as I begin this new day to give it to You, Lord. Before the tumult of activities breaks in; before breakfast plates crash through my still sleepy mind; for this last moment in my bed, thank you, Lord. Let me hold Your promise of new life. Keep me from slipping back for I know that what is forgiven is as if it never were. Each new day, Your grace gives me a fresh start to walk in Your light again. May the Lord support us all the day long, till the shades lengten and the evening comes, and the busy world is hushed, and the fever of life is over, and our work is done. Then in His mercy may He give us a safe lodging, and a holy rest, and peace at the last. Amen.

HAPPY SATURDAY!!!

Today is my day to dance lightly with life.
~Jonathan-Lockwood Huie

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!!!

How often do you make the time to simply observe and appreciate the beauty of nature? This beauty is always available to you, but it requires awareness to take make a conscious effort to be grateful for the incredible gifts that the planet offers everyone. Simply taking a moment to be enraptured by a sunset or observing the moon and stars at night can be a transformative experience. Although it is wonderful to take a walk in a forest or hike up a mountain, even simpler interactions with nature are even more readily available. Just observing closely a tree or flowers that are growing in even the most barren of cities can lift your spirits and enliven your sense of beauty.

Do you take regular breaks from the computer and the busyness of life to simply experience your connection with nature? Just being aware of your breathing pattern is a wonderful way to feel your inherent connection with all of creation. Breathing is the essence of life, and when you breathe with an appreciation for the priceless gift of life itself then you can immediately shift from a selfish sense of what you lack, to a sense of how fortunate you are to be alive. When you are grateful for every breath and every interaction you have with life in all its variety, then you will recognize and draw to you the full abundance that this incredible world provides as a gift to every living thing.

Well, today is SATURDAY, which means that I have another episode of ASK TEAL for you.

Teal Scott is an extrasensory, esoteric who writes and teaches about spirituality, the meaning of life, and the road to health and happiness. You can find out more about her at her website: www.thespiritualcatalyst.com

VIDEO DESCRIPTION FROM YOU TUBE:

Published on Mar 2, 2013
Ask Teal Website - http://www.askteal.com
In today's Ask Teal Episode, Teal (with the help of fellow energy worker Kierstie Leavitt) shows the viewers how to perform a basic energy healing session. She explains to the viewers that we are part of a quantum field of energy.

Energy can be likened to a blue print of physical reality, so if you change that blue print, the physical reality must follow suit. So performing energy work is like changing the blue print of the physical body. Teal then covers the basics of energy healing.

(Forgive the noise and quality issues towards the end of the film, energy work is famous for screwing up electrical equipment and today was no exception).

“Pain is a pesky part of being human, I've learned it feels like a stab wound to the heart, something I wish we could all do without, in our lives here. Pain is a sudden hurt that can't be escaped. But then I have also learned that because of pain, I can feel the beauty, tenderness, and freedom of healing. Pain feels like a fast stab wound to the heart. But then healing feels like the wind against your face when you are spreading your wings and flying through the air! We may not have wings growing out of our backs, but healing is the closest thing that will give us that wind against our faces.” ― C. JoyBell C.

DON'T HOPE.... DECIDE

Don’t Hope… Decide » Meet New People on Spiritual Networks, Make Friends, Share, Chat:

by Vivek Kumar Govila
Wanted to share this another wonderful piece of writing with all that I found on the internet. Thanks to the original writer of this wonderful blog. I hope you all too will like this:

While waiting to pick up a friend at the airport in Portland, Oregon, I had one of those life-changing experiences that you hear other people talk about -the kind that sneaks up on you unexpectedly. This one occurred a mere two feet away from me. Straining to locate my friend among the passengers deplaning through the jetway, I noticed a man coming toward me carrying two light bags.
He stopped right next to me to greet his family. First he motioned to his youngest son (maybe six years old) as he laid down his bags. They gave each other a long, loving hug. As they separated enough to look in each other’s face, I heard the father say, “It’s so good to see you, son. I missed you so much!” His son smiled somewhat shyly, averted his eyes and replied softly, “Me, too, Dad!”
Then the man stood up, gazed in the eyes of his oldest son (maybe nine or ten) and while cupping his son’s face in his hands said, “You’re already quite the young man. I love you very much, Zach!” They too hugged a most loving, tender hug.
While this was happening, a baby girl (perhaps one or one-and-a-half) was squirming excitedly in her mother’s arms, never once taking her little eyes off the wonderful sight of her returning father. The man said, “Hi, baby girl!” as he gently took the child from her mother. He quickly kissed her face all over and then held her close to his chest while rocking her from side to side. The little girl instantly relaxed and simply laid her head on his shoulder, motionless in pure contentment.
After several moments, he handed his daughter to his oldest son and declared, “I’ve saved the best for last!” and proceeded to give his wife the longest, most passionate kiss I ever remember seeing.
He gazed into her eyes for several seconds and then silently mouthed. “I love you so much!” They stared at each other’s eyes, beaming big smiles at one another, while holding both hands. For an instant they reminded me of newlyweds, but I knew by the age of their kids that they couldn’t possibly be.
I puzzled about it for a moment then realized how totally engrossed I was in the wonderful display of unconditional love not more than an arm’s length away from me.
I suddenly felt uncomfortable, as if I was invading something sacred, but was amazed to hear my own voice nervously ask, “Wow! How long have you two been married?” “Been together fourteen years total, married twelve of those.” he replied, without breaking his gaze from his lovely wife’s face. “Well then, how long have you been away?” I asked the man finally turned and looked at me, still beaming his joyous smile.”Two whole days!”
Two days? I was stunned. By the intensity of the greeting, I had assumed he’d been gone for at least several weeks – if not months. I know my expression betrayed me, I said almost offhandedly, hoping to end my intrusion with some semblance of grace (and to get back to searching for my friend), “I hope my marriage is still that passionate after twelve years!”
The man suddenly stopped smiling. He looked me straight in the eye, and with forcefulness that burned right into my soul, he told me something that left me a different person. He told me, “Don’t hope, friend… decide!” Then he flashed me his wonderful smile again, shook my hand and said, “God bless!” With that, he and his family turned and strode away together.
I was still watching that exceptional man and his special family walk just out of sight when my friend came up to me and asked, “What’cha looking at?” Without hesitating, and with a curious sense of certainty, I replied, “My future!”

IT'S INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY!!!

Women are leaders everywhere you look--from the CEO who runs a Fortune 500 company to the housewife who raises her children and heads her household. Our country was built by strong women and we will continue to break down walls and defy stereotypes.
-NANCY PELOSI

That's right, it's INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY. It commemorates the advancements made in human rights and to discuss the challenges women continue to face in politics, education, employment, and other areas of daily life.

But before I say anything else, here is a message from UN Women executive director, Michelle Bachelet.

The information below is from internationalwomensday.com. click HERE to go to the original page.

International Women's Day has been observed since in the early 1900's, a time of great expansion and turbulence in the industrialized world that saw booming population growth and the rise of radical ideologies.

1908
Great unrest and critical debate was occurring amongst women. Women's oppression and inequality was spurring women to become more vocal and active in campaigning for change. Then in 1908, 15,000 women marched through New York City demanding shorter hours, better pay and voting rights.

1909
In accordance with a declaration by the Socialist Party of America, the first National Woman's Day (NWD) was observed across the United States on 28 February. Women continued to celebrate NWD on the last Sunday of February until 1913.

1910
n 1910 a second International Conference of Working Women was held in Copenhagen. A woman named a Clara Zetkin (Leader of the 'Women's Office' for the Social Democratic Party in Germany) tabled the idea of an International Women's Day. She proposed that every year in every country there should be a celebration on the same day - a Women's Day - to press for their demands. The conference of over 100 women from 17 countries, representing unions, socialist parties, working women's clubs, and including the first three women elected to the Finnish parliament, greeted Zetkin's suggestion with unanimous approval and thus International Women's Day was the result.

1911
Following the decision agreed at Copenhagen in 1911, International Women's Day (IWD) was honoured the first time in Austria, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland on 19 March. More than one million women and men attended IWD rallies campaigning for women's rights to work, vote, be trained, to hold public office and end discrimination. However less than a week later on 25 March, the tragic 'Triangle Fire' in New York City took the lives of more than 140 working women, most of them Italian and Jewish immigrants. This disastrous event drew significant attention to working conditions and labour legislation in the United States that became a focus of subsequent International Women's Day events. 1911 also saw women's 'Bread and Roses' campaign.

1913-1914
On the eve of World War I campaigning for peace, Russian women observed their first International Women's Day on the last Sunday in February 1913. In 1913 following discussions, International Women's Day was transferred to 8 March and this day has remained the global date for International Wommen's Day ever since. In 1914 further women across Europe held rallies to campaign against the war and to express women's solidarity.

1917
On the last Sunday of February, Russian women began a strike for "bread and peace" in response to the death over 2 million Russian soldiers in war. Opposed by political leaders the women continued to strike until four days later the Czar was forced to abdicate and the provisional Government granted women the right to vote. The date the women's strike commenced was Sunday 23 February on the Julian calendar then in use in Russia. This day on the Gregorian calendar in use elsewhere was 8 March.

1918 - 1999
Since its birth in the socialist movement, International Women's Day has grown to become a global day of recognition and celebration across developed and developing countries alike. For decades, IWD has grown from strength to strength annually. For many years the United Nations has held an annual IWD conference to coordinate international efforts for women's rights and participation in social, political and economic processes. 1975 was designated as 'International Women's Year' by the United Nations. Women's organisations and governments around the world have also observed IWD annually on 8 March by holding large-scale events that honour women's advancement and while diligently reminding of the continued vigilance and action required to ensure that women's equality is gained and maintained in all aspects of life.

2000 and beyond
IWD is now an official holiday in Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, China (for women only), Cuba, Georgia, Guinea-Bissau, Eritrea, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Madagascar (for women only), Moldova, Mongolia, Montenegro, Nepal (for women only), Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uganda, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Vietnam and Zambia. The tradition sees men honouring their mothers, wives, girlfriends, colleagues, etc with flowers and small gifts. In some countries IWD has the equivalent status of Mother's Day where children give small presents to their mothers and grandmothers.
The new millennium has witnessed a significant change and attitudinal shift in both women's and society's thoughts about women's equality and emancipation. Many from a younger generation feel that 'all the battles have been won for women' while many feminists from the 1970's know only too well the longevity and ingrained complexity of patriarchy. With more women in the boardroom, greater equality in legislative rights, and an increased critical mass of women's visibility as impressive role models in every aspect of life, one could think that women have gained true equality. The unfortunate fact is that women are still not paid equally to that of their male counterparts, women still are not present in equal numbers in business or politics, and globally women's education, health and the violence against them is worse than that of men.
However, great improvements have been made. We do have female astronauts and prime ministers, school girls are welcomed into university, women can work and have a family, women have real choices. And so the tone and nature of IWD has, for the past few years, moved from being a reminder about the negatives to a celebration of the positives. Annually on 8 March, thousands of events are held throughout the world to inspire women and celebrate achievements. A global web of rich and diverse local activity connects women from all around the world ranging from political rallies, business conferences, government activities and networking events through to local women's craft markets, theatric performances, fashion parades and more.
Many global corporations have also started to more actively support IWD by running their own internal events and through supporting external ones. For example, on 8 March search engine and media giant Google some years even changes its logo on its global search pages. Year on year IWD is certainly increasing in status. The United States even designates the whole month of March as 'Women's History Month'.
So make a difference, think globally and act locally !! Make everyday International Women's Day. Do your bit to ensure that the future for girls is bright, equal, safe and rewarding.

Today, I choose to create joy in my life. Whatever my external circumstances, I choose to see all of life through joyful eyes.
~Jonathan-Lockwood Huie

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!!!

This is your time! This is your time to step out fully and bring all your gifts to the table. Put aside the limited thinking of your programming. Put aside all the limited beliefs that you have claimed of being powerless and helpless in the face of the challenges. These are all false. We know when you observe your reality with the current chaos and conflicts, the personal challenges you might be facing with health, family dynamics or your livelihood, they certainly appear real. And we will grant you that from a very limited perspective these experiences can be called real.

However, we are encouraging you to hold all that appears challenging both in the world as well as your personal lives, as the true opportunity it is. We have observed that unless something becomes extremely difficult and uncomfortable most humans seem to settle into a pattern of acceptance. And it is only when pushed to the edge, that they take action for change.

From The Sustainable Man - What is the difference between natural happiness - when we get what we desire - and synthetic happiness - when we accept reality even though we didn't get what we desired?

“Happiness is the consequence of personal effort. You fight for it, strive for it, insist upon it, and sometimes even travel around the world looking for it. I Pledge Allegiance to Divine Source, The Only Power and Presence There Is.

One People, Emanations of Divine Love. One Voice, United We Stand.

Life flows unhindered in, as and through me, because I NOW practice Harmony, Peace and Love. Acceptance and Allowing invites manifestation into outward Form. Divine Source only says, “Yes, to my requests”.

Wealth, Health, Wisdom and Well-Being have already been given to me. I ask to be an empty cup, knowing that I Am continuously filled. All are my Brothers and Sisters - I stand for those that don’t know this yet asking, “Divine Love, please forgive us, for we know not how we limit You”.

My Beingness is made in the Image and Likeness of Divine Love. I turn inward, to know myself as The Silence, which enables me to live as The Christ in the flesh. The Door is always open, I enter NOW. I dwell in the Secret Place, NOW.

Welcome back Home, My Love.

Those of us who are on a "spiritual path" often talk about suppressing the ego, defeating the ego, etc. But what is the ego? What is our "Higher Mind" that we are trying to get to? Well, this video from David Jordan, the creator of SPIRIT SCIENCE, attempts to answer those questions.

And I, for one, thinks he does a pretty good job at that.

What are these bizarre and estranged things we call the higher mind and the ego, and can we talk about it in a way that actually makes sense, rather than some airy-fairy nonsense?

Btw, i like asking questions too, so here are some questions for you -
1 - Who are you?
2 - What do you hope to get out of these videos?
3 - How can I help you get it?

Special thanks to Patty Yuniverse for sharing the same frustration as me, and turning it into lols!

You may have heard him talk a little about it in the first part of the video, but Jordan is part of this program called PANIC TO FREEDOM, which is a program designed to do just that: take us from our lives of anxiety, and worry, to leading lives of freedom. If you want to know more about it, click HERE.

“Nobody sees anybody truly but all through the flaws of their own egos. That is the way we all see ...each other in life. Vanity, fear, desire, competition-- all such distortions within our own egos-- condition our vision of those in relation to us. Add to those distortions to our own egos the corresponding distortions in the egos of others, and you see how cloudy the glass must become through which we look at each other. That's how it is in all living relationships except when there is that rare case of two people who love intensely enough to burn through all those layers of opacity and see each other's naked hearts.” ― Tennessee Williams

O.K., now let's start our day with this poem by Gina Loring called "Universal Breath," an original poem she wrote for Metro. A Metro rider herself, Loring's poem gives us a vision of the everyday dynamics of LA County's public transportation experience. "Universal Breath" is a celebration of LA's world renowned culture and how public transportation knits this diversity together.

As a Metro rider myself, I am deeply moved by her words...

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!!!

We see a world where groups and circles of people gather together regularly to support one another in the manifestation of whatever their individual dreams are; where people easily align with each other because everyone wants only for the highest good of all and everyone else; and where the people are socializing, sharing food, playing, and having fun when they come together.

We see communities popping up everywhere with high creative ideals; where new ideas, inventions, arts, handicrafts, technological and recreational projects abound; and where the people are loving what they do because they are doing what they love.

And we see communities frequently devoting time together for the sacred aspects of life; where they remember to create a spiritual environment that makes it easy for everyone in the community to experience Oneness.

Well, here's another episode of THE DAY THE UNIVERSE CHANGED...

The Day the Universe Changed (subtitled "A Personal View by James Burke") is a British documentary television series written and presented by science historian James Burke, originally broadcast in 1985 by the BBC. The series' primary focus is on the effect of advances in science and technology on western society in its philosophical aspects. In the United States the 10-week hour-long series was broadcast 13 October – 15 December 1986, on PBS and was rebroadcast on The Learning Channel in 1993.

The title comes from the philosophical idea that the universe essentially only exists as you perceive it through what you know; therefore, if you change your perception of the universe with new knowledge, you have essentially changed the universe itself.
To illustrate this concept, James Burke tells the various stories of important scientific discoveries and technological advances and how they fundamentally altered how western civilization perceives the world. The series runs in roughly chronological order, from around the beginning of the Middle Ages to the present. A companion book of the same title, also written by Burke, was published in 1985 (ISBN 0316117064; revised edition 1995), presenting the same general premise of the television series in expanded detail. Burke read from the book for an abridged audiocassette and compact disc set available from Macmillan Audio

I hope you enjoy the video.

HAPPY SUNDAY!!!

I Swim Happily in the Ocean of My being.
~Jonathan-Lockwood Huie

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!!!

I know that many people were expecting that the patterns of the New Earth would instantly manifest with our Ascension into the 5th Dimension, but that is not the way this process works. With the Birth of the New Earth the patterns of perfection did instantaneously begin flooding into the mental and emotional strata enveloping the Earth. However, the Universal Law is that in order for something to physically manifest on Earth, it must be drawn through the Divinity pulsating within the hearts of the people embodied on Earth. This is what is meant by the statement, "God needs a body."

Now since today is SUNDAY, here's the SUNDAY SCHOOL VIDEO, where I post a video or story about any religious subject. Today's video is about RASTAFARIANISM. For those of you who don't know what rastafarianism is, I provided a brief description below... THANKS WIKIPEDIA!

The Rastafari movement, or Rasta, is a spiritual movement that arose in the 1930s in Jamaica. Its adherents worship Haile Selassie I, Emperor of Ethiopia (ruled 1930–1974), some as Jesus incarnate, the Second Advent, or the reincarnation of Jesus, others as God the Father. Members of the Rastafari movement are known as Rastas, or Rastafari. The movement is sometimes referred to as "Rastafarianism", but this term is considered derogatory and offensive by some Rastas, who, being highly critical of "isms" (which they see as a typical part of "Babylon culture"), dislike being labelled as an "ism" themselves.
The name Rastafari is taken from Ras Tafari, the pre-regnal title of Haile Selassie I, composed of Amharic Ras (literally "Head", an Ethiopian title equivalent to Duke), and Haile Selassie's pre-regnal given name, Tafari. Rastafari are generally distinguished for asserting the doctrine that Haile Selassie I, the former and final Emperor of Ethiopia, is another incarnation of the Christian God, called Jah. Most see Haile Selassie I as Jah or Jah Rastafari, who is the second coming of Jesus Christ onto the earth, but to others he is simply God's chosen king on earth. Many elements of Rastafari reflect its origins in Jamaica, a country with a predominantly Christian culture where 98% of the people were the black African descendants of slaves. The Rastafari movement encompasses themes such as the spiritual use of cannabis and the rejection of western society, called Babylon (from the metaphorical Babylon of the Christian New Testament). It proclaims Africa (also "Zion") as the original birthplace of mankind, and from the beginning of the movement the call to repatriation to Africa for the descendants of those slaves forced into exile in the West by the Atlantic slave trade has been a central theme. Rasta also embraces various Afrocentric and Pan-African social and political aspirations, such as the sociopolitical views and teachings of Jamaican publicist, organizer, and black nationalist Marcus Garvey (also often regarded as a prophet). Another theme is Royalty, with Rastas seeing themselves as African royalty and using honorifics such as Prince or King in order to give royalty to their names.
Rastafari is not a highly organized religion; it is a movement and an ideology. Many Rastas say that it is not a "religion" at all, but a "Way of Life". Many Rastas do not claim any sect or denomination, and thus encourage one another to find faith and inspiration within themselves, although some do identify strongly with one of the "mansions of Rastafari" — the three most prominent of these being the Nyahbinghi, the Bobo Ashanti and the Twelve Tribes of Israel.
Today, awareness of the Rastafari movement has spread throughout much of the world, largely through interest generated by reggae music, especially the major international success of Jamaican singer/songwriter Bob Marley (1945–1981). By 1997, there were, according to one estimate, around one million Rastafari faithful worldwide. In the 2001 Jamaican census, 24,020 individuals (less than 1 percent of the population) identified themselves as Rastafarians. Other sources have estimated that in the 2000s they formed "about 5 percent of the population" of Jamaica, or have conjectured that "there are perhaps as many as 100,000 Rastafarians in Jamaica"

Life is one big road with lots of signs. So when you riding through the ruts, don't complicate your mind. Flee from hate, mischief and jealousy. Don't bury your thoughts, put your vision to reality. Wake Up and Live! Bob Marley

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!!!

Now is the time to think BIG. When you think big, big events and changes come about.

Never be afraid of doing this, the bigger you think the better. The more vivid your vision infused with your ‘passion’ the quicker will it manifest. It does not matter how impossible these thoughts may seem. Remember, you are working with your expanded knowing and understanding as a multidimensional alchemist in partnership with the divine forces of light.

This video does not mean to discourage philanthropy or generosity. It is designed to help people in the spiritual and healing field to align with receiving money for their trade. It is designed to discourage people in these fields from confusing philanthropy and generosity with self sacrifice.

The idea that spirituality and money can't co exist and that there is something ethically wrong with turning spirituality into a business is a sacred idea to many of us. We take it as so much of a truth; that we are unwilling to question it fully. In actuality, assigning value to your offering on a spiritual level is no different than assigning a value to an item that is totally unrelated to spirituality because the item is no less spiritual than your spiritual work is. Physical, material things are not separate from source energy. They are not separate from spirit. They are extensions of spirit. What does this mean? Money too is an extension of spirit; so it is a misunderstanding to say that money and spirituality is a contradiction.

Most of us who are dedicated to spirituality pour our own mind, heart soul, money and time into spiritual practice. We dedicate our lives to it in the same way that any other professional pours their existence into their trade. And so the question to ask yourself is: Do you value your dedication and your skills? Do you think highly enough of yourself or what you have to offer (your expertise) that it is conceivable that what you know could benefit and therefore be valuable to someone else? Also, there is also a little known fact... if you offer things for free, people doubt the value of whatever it is that you are offering. Charging money for things actually psychologically causes people to value it and take it seriously.

The most important thing is that we must stay in alignment with out own sense of integrity. We cannot draw absolutes about what is or isn't right, what is or isn't in alignment because right and wrong are human concepts that do not exist from source's perspective. And, our alignment is always based on our perspectives and where we currently are vibrationally, and that is always different from person to person. An important question to ask yourself is: Do you want to dedicate your life to spiritual practice and to providing others with the fruits of that dedication? Or do you want to work at a job that you do not feel passion for, just because you have been told and you have been telling yourself that it is more ethical? Is it really more ethical to make money doing something you don't actually want to do like working and MacDonald's than it is to involve money in your spiritual practice?

The bottom line is: You should be doing the job that you would be doing a. If you never got paid a cent for it and b. If you were so wealthy that you didn't need to get paid for it.

But there is nothing wrong with earning an income to support your day-to-day life and the lives of those who depend on you while doing that thing that you love the most. Receiving money for what you love to do is just a bonus. A bonus, which in today's society is not just beneficial, it is necessary.

ON THIS BLOG, IT'S NOT BLACK HISTORY MONTH; IT'S BLACK HISTORY YEAR. THEREFORE, YOUR GONNA GET BLACK HISTORY, AND EVERY OTHER KIND OF HISTORY I FEEL LIKE POSTING ABOUT ALL YEAR LONG.

now having said that, I hope you enjoy the video

VIDEO DESCRIPTION FROM YOU TUBE:

Uploaded on Jan 3, 2011
ኢትዮጵያ Ethiopia is a landlocked country located in the Horn of Africa, and officially known as the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. It is the second-most populous nation in Africa, with over 85.2 million people, and the tenth-largest by area, with its 1,100,000 km2. The capital is Addis Ababa. Ethiopia is bordered by Eritrea to the north, Sudan to the west, Djibouti and Somalia to the east, and Kenya to the south.

Ethiopia was a monarchy for most of its history, and the Ethiopian dynasty traces its roots to the 2nd century BC.[6] Ethiopia is also one of the oldest sites of human existence known to scientists today, having yielded some of humanity's oldest traces.[7] It may be the region from which Homo sapiens first set out for the Middle East and points beyond.[8][9][10] When Africa was divided up by European powers at the Berlin Conference, Ethiopia was one of only two countries that retained its independence. It was one of only four African members of the League of Nations. After a brief period of Italian occupation, Ethiopia became a charter member of the United Nations. When other African nations received their independence following World War II, many of them adopted the colors of Ethiopia's flag, and Addis Ababa became the location of several international organizations focused on Africa.

Modern Ethiopia and its current borders are a result of significant territorial reduction in the north and expansion in the south toward its present borders, owing to several migrations and commercial integration as well as conquests, particularly by Emperor Menelik II and Ras Gobena. In 1974, the dynasty led by Haile Selassie was overthrown as civil wars intensified. Since then, Ethiopia has seen a variety of governmental systems. Ethiopia is one of the founding members of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), G-77 and the Organisation of African Unity (OAU). Today, Addis Ababa is still the headquarter of the African Union, the Nile Basin Commission,[11] the Pan African Chamber of Commerce (PACCI) and[12] UNECA. The country has one of the most powerful militaries in Africa and Addis Ababa is the headquarter of the continental African Standby Force (ASF). Ethiopia is one of a few African countries to have its own alphabet.[13] Ethiopia also has its own time system and unique calendar, seven to eight years behind the Gregorian Calendar. It has the largest number of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Africa.[14]

The country is a land of natural contrasts, with spectacular waterfalls and volcanic hot springs. Ethiopia has some of Africa's highest mountains as well as some of the world's lowest points below sea level. The largest cave in Africa is located in Ethiopia at Sof Omar, and the country's northernmost area at Dallol is one of the hottest places year-round anywhere on Earth. There are altogether around 80 different ethnic groups in Ethiopia today, with the two largest being the Oromo and the Amhara, both of which speak Afro-Asiatic languages. The country is also famous for its Olympic gold medalists, rock-hewn churches and as the place where the coffee bean originated. Currently, Ethiopia is the top coffee and honey-producing country in Africa, and home to the largest livestock population in Africa.

Ethiopia has close historical ties to all three of the world's major Abrahamic religions. It was one of the first Christian countries in the world, having officially adopted Christianity as the state religion in the 4th century. It still has a Christian majority, but a third of the population is Muslim. Ethiopia is the site of the first hijra in Islamic history and the oldest Muslim settlement in Africa at Negash. Until the 1980s, a substantial population of Ethiopian Jews resided in Ethiopia. The country is also the spiritual homeland of the Rastafari religious movement, that is influenced by Pan-Africanism and has globalized Ethiopian flag tricolors with the spread of Reggae music alongside Hip hop culture. Ethiopia, which has Africa's second biggest hydropower potential,[15] is the source of over 85% of the total Nile water flow and contains rich soils, but it nevertheless underwent a series of famines in the 1980s, exacerbated by adverse geopolitics and civil wars, resulting in the death of hundreds of thousands.[16] Slowly, however, the country has begun to recover, and today Ethiopia has the biggest economy in East Africa (GDP) as the Ethiopian economy is also one of the fastest growing in the world and it is a regional powerhouse in the Horn and east Africa. The country remains politically fragile, with the opposition struggling for democracy and with reports of human rights abuses
