HAPPY FRIDAY!!!

Today I Release All My Troubles And Grief.
~Jonathan-Lockwood Huie

GOOD MORNING, EVERYONE!!!

In case you don't know, today is Native American Heritage Day. So What is Native American Heritage day?

Taken from www.timeanddate.com:

American Indian Heritage Day, also known as Native American Heritage Day, annually recognizes the rich cultural heritage, history and vital contributions of American Indians on the Friday after Thanksgiving Day in the United States.

Some individual states, such as Maryland have taken legislative action to recognize this day as a state holiday.

What Do People Do?
Many people observe American Indian Heritage Day with activities, programs, and ceremonies that promote the historical and present day status of Native Americans and the Native American tribal governments. These events celebrate the culture, traditions, and languages of Native Americans that all Americans enjoy today.

The day also encourages public elementary and secondary schools to educate students about the history, achievements, and contributions of Native Americans by providing classroom instructions and activities.

Public Life
American Indian Heritage Day is a civil holiday but some individual states, such as Maryland recognize this day as a state holiday. Maryland state agencies, libraries and public schools are closed on this day and most state employees and many others have the day off from work.

Background
Native Americans are the descendants of the aboriginal, indigenous, native people who were the original inhabitants of the United States. American Indian Heritage Day aims to highlight the relationship between the United States government and the Native American governments, as well as honor the achievements and contributions of Native Americans to the US.

Native Americans have made distinct and significant contributions to the United States and the rest of the world in many fields, including agriculture, medicine, music, language, and art. Throughout history, Native Americans have distinguished themselves as inventors, entrepreneurs, spiritual leaders, as well as scholars.

It is my hope that this becomes a NATIONAL HOLIDAY soon. HAPPY NATIVE AMERICAN HERITAGE DAY!!!

Of course, we all know what today ALSO is...

BLACK FRIDAY. The day most unemployed men who live in their mother's or girlfriend's basements can't wait for one or the other to buy them Call Of Duty Black Ops 2. So they can play for months on end without pay and never serve in the real military.

BLACK FRIDAY. Because only in america, people trample each other for sales exactly one day after being thankful for what they already have.

BLACK FRIDAY. Of all the names they give this day, they gotta call it BLACK FRIDAY. LIKE MY PEOPLE HAD SOMETING TO DO WITH THAT!!!! O.K., just kidding. They call it Black Friday because that's the day when most stores who are in the red throuout much of the year, which means they are doing badly, go back in the black, which means they are doing well. At least in the buisness sense. But for some people...

YEAH.

O.K., I admit, I'm making fun of this day, but I do not hate this day. I DO hate what it does to people though...

When something like this happens, we all reel back in horror, and talk about how people are crazy, etc. But, it doesn't stop us from going back for more next year...

But the thing that makes today so crazy for me is that NONE of this is necessary. In fact, it is TOTALLY UNNECESSARY.

So, for all of you nut jobs out there who want to camp out in front of a store for a couple of days, who can't wait to rush in and trample each other for the best sales, for the employees of all these stores who have to suffer through this madness, and for all the store owners, company executives, presidents, CEO's, whatever, who encourage all this madness, this short video below is for you. Yeah, I know the subject matter is a litlle crazy, but it can't be any more crazy than what you're doing...

Now, I really hope the shoppers out there get what they want, I hope the employees of these various stores get through this in one peice, And I hope that the various CEO's of these stores get what they want. And I also hope that they all realize that PEOPLE MATTER MORE THAN LOW PRICES.

HAPPY SHOPPING EVERYONE. AND SUPPORT WAL-MART STRIKERS.

Our lives are made up of a million moments, spent in a million different ways. Some are spent searching for love, peace and harmony. Others are spent surviving day to day. But the most fulfilling moments are when we discover that life, with all its joys and sorrows, is meant to be lived one day at a time

Now, let's start off the morning with Carmen Amara, singing WHENEVER WHEREVER WHATEVER by Maxwell.
