PUKULAN CIMANDE PUSAKA SANDERS: TONJOK BERANG

Hi Guys,

Check out the new PCP logo below! This will be one of our new official logo of Pukulan Cimande Pusaka. And Also, we have a new name for our art, PUKULAN CIMANDE PUSAKA SANDERS.

Below the logo, I posted the new welcome message for the Silat section of www.cimande.com, the official website of PCPS Pencak Silat.

Now, here's the description of this logo, in the words of Pendekar Sanders:

Mas Juds High Caste portion of his art was the SNAKE .It is what is inside ALL we do. The Rose is the alluring portion that makes the enemy feel comfortable to come and grab it, BUT behind the rose is the SNAKE (Naga as well, same idea) waiting to strike and the he gets stung by the hidden thorns , representing the four animals and elements. MY name is now here as P.C.P is MY art, I developed this to where it is and refined the delivery system to make it much different than other silat you will see.

Welcome

Pencak Silat is a term which refers to the general category of martial arts that come from Indonesia. Indonesia has many different styles of Pencak Silat and our style of martial art is the life long creation of the original Pencak Silat, martial art of Mas Jud in java . Pendekar Sanders has refined and added many revelations in the delivery system and jurus, making it unique and found only here. You can see our new logo which adds the name, Sanders to the art, as it truly is now a development of over 40 years of Pendekar Sanders efforts to develop it where it is now. This will now always be present in real Pukulan Cimande Pusaka the name Sanders will be added to the end. Over the years Pendekar Sanders refined a very specific way of moving, after studying the best masters he had and saw in his travels. At first we showed the students , techniques and jurus and then tried to help them learn these correct methods to move, added to the techniques. Many however were so focused on the jurus, they failed to internalize the way of movement, which is the key and crowning glory of the art. We will introduce a new DVD this year which will start to develop this type of movement, internally, first. Then that most vital portion will never be lost. This will usher in a new era in Pukulan Cimande Puska Sanders, so we have added some new logo’s as well. They have a very deep meaning and students will be enlightened to that. Even if you tried PCP in the past , give it a new look. With the advent of the new DVD to come, many will be brought to much higher levels. Get excited , very excited and come join us. We are often copied and pirated but never equaled .

Pukulan Cimande Pusaka Sanders.

If you choose to train with us then welcome aboard and hop on for the ride of your life. If you do not choose us then good luck in your chosen style and we wish you well in your training.

Now, having said that, I would like to talk to you about an important, and very unique aspect of our system.

check out the video below:

This video shows an important aspect of our art known as Tonjok Bareng, AKA Poison Hand hitting.

Now the term, "poison hand hitting", was originally coined because when people were hit with this skill, they would fall down and not know exactly where the blow came from, thus it would be assumed that poison was used. Also, in the past, and even in recent times, poisonous substances would be placed on the fingernails and the blades, which would then be used on the opponent to produce injury.

When Pendekar Sanders finally connected with the family of Mas Jud and their students, he found that the proper term for this skill was TONJOK BARENG. However, to keep it simple, in this blog I'm going to use the term poison hand.

When you start learning this skill, you start with 3 blows, but as your skill grows, you learn to use all parts of the body. This teaches the PCPS student the correct way to develop the whipping snap that all blows in this system should possess so large wind up for the blows become obsolete. In short, it allows the PCPS practicioner to deliver 3 blows in the space of the time it takes to deliver one, with power, and precision.

Now some people, when they first hear about poison hand blows, tend to liken it to the way that Kenpo Karate or Wing Chun Kung Fu throws it's multiple blows.

To illustrate how THIS IS NOT THE SAME as the poison hand blows of PCPS, I posted here a video of each system throwing their multiple hand blows.

Now as you can see, those ARE effective ways of hitting. However, although you can see the Kenpo guy and the Wing Chun guy hitting FAST, the blows are still going out, and coming back, more or less in a linear fashion.

For all you Kenpo and Wing Chun guys out there reading this blog, I'm not trying to disparage your styles in ANY way. I'm just showing differences in what YOU do, and what WE do, that's ALL.

Now, check out the video below, made by Guru Baharu Peterson Menezes:

Now as you can see in the video above, like I said before, the idea behind poison hand hitting is to be able to deliver a blow like a whip, in a tiny arc that at the instant it hits, twist back in a different direction to deliver another strike, often with another portion of the anatomy.

I admit that my hitting skills are not nearly as good as seen on the video, but I am still studying. I also admit, that this is very hard for me to describe to you, even with the video illustration, so I included an article Pendekar Sanders wrote some years ago, to describe this better.

The Secret of the Eight Gates of Power

By: Pendekar Sanders

While this subject is extremely difficult to transmit through only the vehicle of the written word I will try.

Correct hitting in our Art requires the body to impart a whip like quality to the striking weapon. We incorporate a variety of methods to amplify this whip force. The student is encouraged to only tense the blows on impact and to start a wave like action through the bogy with a stomping action of the foot prior to the strike. These only two actions and simple sounding at that. Those of you who have practiced correctly will attest this still requires hours of work to get the hang of. With that in mind I will now stretch your potential ability much further.

In truth the ankle joint is our first gate. To open it one must cock it. When your heel hits the ground the uncocking begins and throws the blows force up the body and out to the extremity of choice.

The second gate is the knee, which also must be bent and opened. As the angle is closed somewhat the energy is increased.

The third gate is the hip joint. This is a little tricky. If the desire is to create a very short explosive whip crack strike the hip is opened (moved) forward so as the force reaches it, it rotates away from the direction violently multiplying the speed. If the desire is to apply the full weight of the defender to propel him away the hip is rotated back and then towards the attacker when the blow is released.

Next we have the shoulder joint or the fourth gate. It is flexed like the knee to carry the wave. The fifth gate is the elbow, the sixth gate is the wrist, the seventh gate are the fingers and the eight gate is the head as in the Mad Rooster. As the wave of energy reaches each gate it multiplies forward. The result, when thrown correctly is that the fingers snap back into the palm of the hand with an audible snap.

Developing all eight gates enables the practitioner to literally throw blows with the arms folded against the body with almost no perceptible movement, but with great force.

After the practitioner can utilize this on all of the extremities it can be isolated to midpoints like knees, elbows , ankles, etc. Try it! Using more gates means more power generated.

I hope this helps.

The advantage is, in the flash of an eye, you can deliver multiple blows to disable an attacker's arm, or redirect a strike from his head back into his throat, in an instant. Eventually, like I said before, the entire body is used with it, and after you develop it, you can start applying this to elbows, knees, and feet.

This is a VERY ADVANCED and UNIQUE aspect of PCPS, and well, so far this skill escapes me. But hey, I'm still learning.

If any of you out there like this article and want to know more, then by all means, please go to the web site at www.cimande.com. and join the Pencak Silat Pukulan Cimande Pusaka Sanders distance learning program.

Hey guys, check out our other new logo below. It shows the rose with the thorns in the middle because,

To relax the mind is to see with the spirit, and all that comes to do no harm will be embraced, while all which desires to harm is destroyed in order to preserve.
