Well, it's Memorial Day! For most, it's the unofficicial first day of summer, a day of celebration and Barbeque. But we must remember the brave men and women who put their lives on the line for us every day, and especially, those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for us.

Elephant Challenge: I invite you to watch this video of a young yogi, super-mom, who days ago, was diagnosed with breast cancer. This is what she needs. LOTS & LOTS of prayers & good wishes. She's had her 1st surgery today (5/22) and could use all the blessings she can get
From her husband: Yulady is out of surgery an resting well. Tx you to all friends and family for the out pouring of love, prayer and support we have been shown. We are truly blessed to have you all in our lives. We got great news. No cancer in her lymph nodes! Whatever you guys are doing prayer and energy wise please keep it up. It's working!

You'd think they'd learn, but you'd be wrong. Some people are having an audio compatibility issue that makes Bubba (the character on the right) silent. Most people don't have the issue, so I'm just going to leave the video online. I checked it on 3 different computers and it worked. It didn't work on my phone though. It's a mono speaker issue. Try stereo. Plug in some headphones or something. Sorry for the inconvenience.
These are just characters. CHARACTERS. Don't take them too seriously. It's over-the-top for a reason. If you don't understand why some people find this funny (as I did when I made it), then you probably haven't been in as many debates with Creationists as we have. Well, it's officialy SUNDAY, The Last day of the Week! Or, according to some people, the first... Anyway, this Sunday is a special one. Why? Because Today is the "Ring of Fire" Annular Solar Eclipse!
So, What the hell is an annual Solar Eclipse?
An annular solar eclipse happens when the Moon is in the part of its elliptical orbit which is relatively far away from Earth and therefore covers a slightly smaller angle in the sky than the Sun. As is apparent in the attached photo, an annulus (ring) of the Sun's photosphere remains visible, hence the "ring of fire." During today's eclipse, the Moon is at such a distance that it will cover approximately 94% of the Sun.
There have been 27 Solar Eclipses since 001 CE that were conjoined the star Alcyone. This includes partial, annular and total eclipses. Last partial eclipse was 5/21/1993 and before that another partial on 5/19/1985. Preceding that was an annular on 5/20/1966 and then two total eclipses on 5/20/1947 and 5/19/1928.

In this day and age, Mothers are Teachers, Doctors, Nurses, CEO's, elected officials and PTA presidents, Police Officers, and volunteers, as well as Homemakers and Heads of Households. These women are using their talents in every sector of our society, striving to help all people to look forward with hope and faith in the future.

Yep, it's that time of year again... it's Cinco de Mayo! So, Why should we care about a relatively minor Mexican holiday celebrating the Battle of Puebla?
Well, the fact is the union just might have lost the Civil War if the Mexicans hadn't kicked the crap out of the French and sent them packing, thereby keeping them from supplying the South through Mexico.
