The Subject of today's Ask Teal Episode is: Alchemy Alchemy covers several philosophical traditions spanning some four millennia and several continents, but we can sum it up in this way... Alchemy is the philosophy and practice of liberating a physical substance from its "fixed" physical properties. Like other sciences, early alchemists used scientific processes, in other words techniques that could be replicated in a lab. But unlike other sciences, you cannot separate the scientific process of alchemy from hermetic principals and spirituality. Those principals and spiritual truths are the basis upon which alchemy stands. It was believed that without achieving a form of enlightenment or inner spiritual revelation, the truths of the universe (which would enable you to transcend temporal reality) would not ever be learned and known to the practitioner. There would be no hope of you transcending the fixed properties of the physical dimension so as to transform something like ordinary metal into gold without gaining access to the higher truths of this universe through spiritual practice and mastery. The Great Work of Alchemy is often described as a series of four stages, which are represented by colors:
Nigredo- (a blackening or melanosis), which represents a process of putrefaction or decomposition. In this stage, ingredients had to be cleansed and cooked extensively. Internally, this represents a kind of spiritual death and the confronting of one's shadow aspect.
Albedo- (a whitening or leucosis). The washing away of impurities. The physical subject (such as ingredient) is to be purified and divided into two opposing principles. Internally, this represents re gaining the original purity and receptivity of the soul. Symbolically, it represents the process of washing away the ashes to find the soul.
Citrinitas- (a yellowing or xanthosis). This refers to transmutation and the actual turning of a subject (such as an ingredient) into its highest state such as silver into gold. Internally, this represents awakening...becoming a manifestation of the soul. Becoming a walking embodiment of the soul, rather than a muted reflection of it. It is a process of anything turning into a higher form of itself. Rubedo- (a reddening, purpling, or iosis). Rubedo refers to the end state; alchemical success. Achievement of the perfected state... The final state of perfection of a subject (such as an ingredient). It can be interpreted as achieving enlightened consciousness and the total fusion of spirit and matter. This stage is often represented by the symbol of the phoenix.

In summation, alchemy can be defined simply as the conscious, intentional process of transmutation, purification, and perfection of _____________ (fill in the blank) But the most important thing to understand is that there can be no external alchemy without there first being internal alchemy.

They're making this store in Torrance, California... right where my favorite book store used to be.

I know because the last couple of days, that's where my temp job was. My job was to help unwrap, clean up, and make things tidy while construction was going on in this soon to be new store. I kept looking around, seeing in my mind's eye where all the books, CD's and DVD's used to be... Where people sat down and studied while drinking their coffee... Where the Information desk and the check out lines were... The whole place is so different now... When I thought about all the great memories I had in that place, I almost burst into tears. There's a Barnes and Noble nearby, but that Borders was always my favorite book store.

O.K., enough of my sob story. I want to show you something now. 2 days ago, I introduced you guys to an amazing japanese Martial Artist named YOSHINORI KONO. Now, I want to Introduce you to another amazing japanese Martial Artist I would like to learn from. His name is TETSUZAN KURODA. Tetsukan Kuroda was born in 1950, in Saitama Prefecture, Japan. When he was a year old, Kuroda Sensei began his training in his family's system of martial arts underhis grandfather, Yasuji Kuroda, and his father, Shigeki Kuroda. When he was 20 years old, Kuroda was awarded Hanshi Hachidan in Kobudo by the Dai Nippon Butokukai. This was a national record in Japan for such a young person to be given such a high rank. Kuroda Sensei is the fifteenth Soke of his family's system. He is known for his "Disappearing" or "Hidden Movements".

Well, another day, another dollar... Yesterday was full of frustration... I know today will be better.

Now Periodically, I make posts called: "MARTIAL ARTS I WANT TO LEARN MORE ABOUT" which showcase certain martial arts I find interesting, and want to learn more about; hence, the title. But Today, I'm not posting about a particular art, but a person. His name is YOSHINORI KONO.

Kono Yoshinori is a Japanese martial arts master and "body technique" （身体技法, Shintaigihou: literally "body technique"） researcher. Born in 1949 in Tokyo, Japan, Kono was a student of husbandry at the Tokyo University of Agriculture before dropping out. He has since gone on to publish numerous books on the subject of bujutsu （武術, Japan’s classical martial arts, and what he calls “body technique”: the proper and most efficient use of the body, based on traditional bujutsu. Kono is gaining increasing recognition recently in Japan for his applications of bujutsu principles and techniques in other areas, in particular sports and nursing care. I first saw him in a You Tube video I posted called NAMBA ARUKI - A Style of Walking Practiced in old Japan, but I didn't know his name until I first saw the video segment below:

Today's Ask Teal Episode is designed to address the fear that focusing on our own happiness feeds the ego. It addresses the fear that we are abandoning the rest of the world especially those in need and the problems that "need to be fixed" by focusing on ourselves.

People often worry that when I say you can't rescue someone from their own thoughts, that means don't help people, they deserve to learn from their own creations. This is not what I am saying at all. What I am saying is... no matter how much you do help people, you cannot think for them, therefore you cannot create their reality for them. No matter how much money you give someone, even if it is a million dollars, if they still operate from a poverty mentality, they will eventually go broke again. Another issue brought against my teachings on helping others, is the issue of ego. Quite often, People perceive that there is nothing but ego in teachings such as mine, that encourage a person to focus only on getting themselves into alignment and happiness while withdrawing your attention from the rest of the "external world". This is a flawed perception in and of itself because there can be nothing separate of you. You influence your entire reality and all people in it by changing your own vibration because your entire reality including the people in it, are a projection of your own consciousness. You are the projector, your reality is the projector screen, there is nothing else you can do to really change and improve your reality other than change yourself. If you want war to end, end it inside yourself. If you want poverty to end, end it inside yourself. If you want suffering, end it inside yourself. You could not line up with seeing suffering in the world and feeling powerless about that suffering, unless you felt powerless about your own suffering.
What I find most amusing is that the bleeding hearts of the world are often the group most upset by the ego that we perceive in focusing on one's own happiness. When we are the ones most caught up in the illusion of ego. We think focusing on ourselves means that we are cutting ourselves off in a kind of pink bubble from the rest of the world, putting blinders on to problems and abandoning the rest of the world by only being concerned with our internal experience and our own happiness. Those of us who think the world is separate from us and that other people are separate from us, spend a great deal of time trapped in the illusion of a separate self... the very definition of ego. There can never be anything other than you in your reality. There is nothing more important when it comes to helping other people than to improve YOUR internal condition. Your internal condition is what is co creating and lining you up with things like people who are suffering, poverty and war.
The person you help is your internal life. Their asking is your asking. It is just you asking for your help. It is just you asking for your love. It is just you asking to be rescued from yourself.
