The thought generates the emotion of fear. But it generates a level of fear which seems "out of context" for what is currently going on in the environment, which in turn, makes you feel crazy. The fear of loosing control and being crazy adds to the fear, giving rise to a full blown panic attack. The panic causes a cascade of "fight or flight" chemicals to flood the body leading to an array of debilitating symptoms and sensations. Teal then outlines the steps to stopping a panic attack when you find yourself having one.
