So, Who was Carl Sagan?
From Wikipedia:Carl Edward Sagan (November 9, 1934 – December 20, 1996) was an American astronomer, astrophysicist, cosmologist, author, science popularizer and science communicator in astronomy and natural sciences. He spent most of his career as a professor of astronomy at Cornell University where he directed the Laboratory for Planetary Studies. He published more than 600 scientific papers and articles and was author, co-author or editor of more than 20 books. He advocated scientifically skeptical inquiry and the scientific method, pioneered exobiology and promoted the Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence (SETI). Sagan is known for his popular science books and for the award-winning 1980 television series Cosmos: A Personal Voyage, which he narrated and co-wrote. The book Cosmos was published to accompany the series. Sagan wrote the novel Contact, the basis for a 1997 film of the same name.

ANSWER - Permaculture is the extension of the art of biomimicry - a sustainable living and design science rooted in observation of nature; permaculture is to sustainability what math is to physics. Nature has long solved many of the environmental and social problems we're facing today, but we just have not been paying much attention.
While many people think of permaculture as gardening, that’s a lot like thinking of math as being about building bridges. Permaculture is much larger than gardening. Permaculture is a sustainable design science rooted in observation of natural patterns. For example, the same branching pattern of a tree is present in every river, as well as in our own bodies — the pattern maximizes edge, increases diversity, and serves at least a dozen other functions. The very concepts of diversity increasing stability of natural living systems and edge increasing diversity are core permaculture teachings.
By observing the way nature works and then applying the same patterns and principles we learn to design truly sustainable, extremely resilient systems on any level – that can be a garden, a business or a whole city.
So, why did I bother to tell you this? Well, a group called THE REGENERATIVE LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE, an eight year old leadership, sustainable living and permaculture design school with courses in Oregon, California and Hawaii, is trying to develop a free online permaculture design course, teaching principles of sustainable living and permaculture design.

This is very scary stuff folks! Although not ALL Muslims believe in the Hidden Imam, history is a good indicator that radical views such as these can be extremely dangerous, despite the size of the group adherent to the beliefs.

Today's Ask Teal Episode is about: Past Lives
We are eternal. This means we have been projecting forth into physical lives and withdrawing from them over and over and over again. You are the culmination of every life you have ever lived. When you die, you line up with everything that life has caused you to desire. That is pure positive energy. Which means that you don't drag baggage with you. You may choose to "opt" into new contrast though based on a past life you have lived.
Your eternal aspect is not oriented towards the past; it is always using the past as a platform for what is to come. We are always oriented towards the expansion the improvement. When you come into a new life, you close your eyes to the past, in order to open them to a new existence. The benefit of a new life is a new perspective... other than a perspective that is an accumulation of every other life as well. That would be like trying to listen to a billion channels on a radio at the same time. Our eternal being (often called a soul) manages to be all these channels at once. Which is why you can see your past lives when you withdraw your focus and re-align with your eternal consciousness like when the Buddha was meditating under the Bodhi tree. We come into one singular life focused on this singular life We sometimes refer to this as going "balls deep" into the program. Doing this benefits us greatly. Isn't it a different level of experience walking into a movie theatre and having no memory of life before you entered the movie theatre than it is when you're aware of the life that exists before and after the movie theatre? The idea that we must be here in order to clear karma accumulated in past lives is another very outdated very human understanding of this universe. The current understanding of karma, makes God or the Universe out to be a kind of parental figure that gets to dictate what lives you live based on what he or it sees as essential for you to live in order for you to achieve his pre determined idea of perfection and make up for past mistakes and learn the lessons the universe wants you to learn. Your past lives do not hold the key you are looking for... If it seems like a past life did hold the key, it is because you managed to relate to a past life maybe not even YOUR past life that better symbolically represented your current struggle and when you released the pain relative to the symbolic past life, you also released your resistance relative to that current struggle.
We are here to facilitate our soul's expansion in this lifetime. We cannot do this and be continuously immersed in the past. It is a vibrational contradiction. We cannot look behind us and move forward at the same time. In truth we cannot look behind us and even be in the present moment at the same time. And that is why most of us have chosen to let go of the memories of our past lives at the same time as we chose to participate in this one.

I found this amazing series on You Tube that I used to watch on The Laerning Channel, called THE DAY THE UNIVERSE CHANGED, hosted by JAMES BURKE.
The premise of the show was basically the philosophical idea that the universe essentially only exists as you perceive it through what you know; therefore, if you change your perception of the universe with new knowledge, you have essentially changed the universe itself.
To illustrate this concept, James Burke tells the various stories of important scientific discoveries and technological advances and how they fundamentally altered how western civilization perceives the world. The series runs in roughly chronological order, from around the beginning of the Middle Ages to the present.
Below is the 1st episode. In the near future, I'm gonna be posting more.

(NaturalNews) The recommended childhood vaccination schedule has changed dramatically over the years, with children now receiving upwards of 30 vaccines, including multiple combination vaccines, before the age of six. And in many cases, doctors and nurses administer half a dozen or more vaccines all at once during a single visit to make sure children get all these shots and to save time. But according to data compiled from the government's Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System (VAERS), as many as 145,000 children or more have died throughout the past 20 years as a result of this multiple vaccine dose approach, and few parents are aware of this shocking fact.
In a study recently published in the journal Human & Experimental Toxicology, researchers evaluated the overall number of hospitalizations and deaths associated with vaccines administered between 1990 and 2010, and compared this data to the number of vaccines given at one time to individual children. Hospitalizations and deaths resulting from one vaccine dose were compared to those of two vaccine doses, in other words, and the same all the way up to eight vaccine doses. Researchers also evaluated overall hospitalization and death rates associated with getting one to four combined vaccine doses, five to eight combined vaccine doses, and one to eight combined vaccine doses.
Upon analysis, the team found that the more vaccines a child receives during a single doctor visit, the more likely he or she is to suffer a severe reaction or even die. According to Heidi Stevenson from Gaia Health, for each additional vaccine a child receives, his or her chance of death increases by an astounding 50 percent -- and with each additional vaccine dose, chances of having to be hospitalized for severe complications increase two-fold. To sum it all up, the overall size of the vaccine load was found to be directly associated with hospitalization and death risk, illustrating the incredible dangers of administering multiple vaccines at once.

Interestingly, the total number of reported hospitalizations and deaths from getting just one vaccine was higher than the number reported for getting two, three, or even four vaccines. Though the precise reason for this is unknown, it is believed that newborns mostly fall into the one vaccine category, and those that are injured by a single vaccine tend not to get any more vaccines, hence the immediate decrease observed among children who received only two vaccines. Once a child reaches five vaccinations; however, the hospitalization and death rate jumps dramatically, the reason for which was not investigated as part of the study.
"Our findings show a positive correlation between the number of vaccine doses administered and the percentage of hospitalizations and deaths reports to VAERS," wrote the authors in their conclusion. (NaturalNews) The recommended childhood vaccination schedule has changed dramatically over the years, with children now receiving upwards of 30 vaccines, including multiple combination vaccines, before the age of six. And in many cases, doctors and nurses administer half a dozen or more vaccines all at once during a single visit to make sure children get all these shots and to save time. But according to data compiled from the government's Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System (VAERS), as many as 145,000 children or more have died throughout the past 20 years as a result of this multiple vaccine dose approach, and few parents are aware of this shocking fact.
In a study recently published in the journal Human & Experimental Toxicology, researchers evaluated the overall number of hospitalizations and deaths associated with vaccines administered between 1990 and 2010, and compared this data to the number of vaccines given at one time to individual children. Hospitalizations and deaths resulting from one vaccine dose were compared to those of two vaccine doses, in other words, and the same all the way up to eight vaccine doses. Researchers also evaluated overall hospitalization and death rates associated with getting one to four combined vaccine doses, five to eight combined vaccine doses, and one to eight combined vaccine doses.
Upon analysis, the team found that the more vaccines a child receives during a single doctor visit, the more likely he or she is to suffer a severe reaction or even die. According to Heidi Stevenson from Gaia Health, for each additional vaccine a child receives, his or her chance of death increases by an astounding 50 percent -- and with each additional vaccine dose, chances of having to be hospitalized for severe complications increase two-fold. To sum it all up, the overall size of the vaccine load was found to be directly associated with hospitalization and death risk, illustrating the incredible dangers of administering multiple vaccines at once.

Interestingly, the total number of reported hospitalizations and deaths from getting just one vaccine was higher than the number reported for getting two, three, or even four vaccines. Though the precise reason for this is unknown, it is believed that newborns mostly fall into the one vaccine category, and those that are injured by a single vaccine tend not to get any more vaccines, hence the immediate decrease observed among children who received only two vaccines. Once a child reaches five vaccinations; however, the hospitalization and death rate jumps dramatically, the reason for which was not investigated as part of the study.
"Our findings show a positive correlation between the number of vaccine doses administered and the percentage of hospitalizations and deaths reports to VAERS," wrote the authors in their conclusion. "In addition, younger infants were significantly more likely than older infants to be hospitalized or die after receiving vaccines. Since vaccines are administered to millions of infants every year, it is imperative that health authorities have scientific data from synergistic toxicity studies on all combinations of vaccines that infants are likely to receive."

In this episode of Ask Teal, the topic is: Shadow Work.
Teal explains that there is only one type of energy in this universe, which we can call...Source Energy. There is not a source of Good and a source of Evil or a source of Light and a source of Dark. What we call negative or evil or shadow, is merely the RESISTANCE to source energy. So you could say shadow is just absence of light. Another way of saying that is, shadow is the vibration within you that does not resonate at the same frequency as source energy.
Thoughts dictate the vibration a person holds. So shadow work means addressing and releasing the thoughts and beliefs which are holding you in opposition to source energy and source perspective, the part of us that is not a match to source vibration and perspective. In this episode, Teal describes two helpful ways to approach one's "shadow". And reminds us that It is useless to run from shadows within us because, just like our physical shadows, they follows us anywhere we go until we shed light upon them.

The twenty-fourth installment of my original series, "Discovering Religion". In this episode I examine the claim made by many proponents of a naturalistic origin of morality that our understanding of right and wrong is solely derived from evolution, with little to no influence from philosophic logic and reason.
My goal with this episode is to demonstrate that human beings share numerous behavioral traits in common with a variety of species throughout the Animal Kingdom. Our capacity to care and to kill are far from unique on this planet, for animals can inflict just as much "good" or "evil" on members of their same species as do human beings. Within the context of social animals the phrase survival of the fittest refers to members of a group that care for one another and help each achieve common goals. However, this alone does not lead to a sound understanding of morality, for often the goal of one group is the demise of another. If we are to achieve a consist and all-encompassing code of conduct that equally applies to every human being, then we must employ the tools of science, logic, and reason.

For the last few days now, there has been alot of vicious trash-talking going on a martial-atrs discussion forum that I frequently lurk at. The participants practice a certain well-known style of Pencak Silat(those of you who have been in the silat community for a while know which style I'm talking about). It's not a good thing to see a bunch of grown men act like school children, but sometimes you just got to just watch and enjoy the drama...

I get these questions a lot;
Why do I not partake in interaction with online hate & negativity? Why do I not talk to these people that slander and talk trash on others? Why not just set them straight with your answers?
I have never responded to a forum attack or a youtube / video attack in anyway, I let them talk and I simply go about my business promoting good ethics and morals to my students. I have nothing to defend, the Budo Ryu is a school of traditional martial arts that trains and teaches 7 warrior traditions.
--- SORRY BUT I AM NOT SO INSECURE THAT I HAVE TO TALK TO A WEBCAM AND TRASH OTHERS ONLINE SO THAT IN MY HEAD I CAN FEEL THAT PEOPLE WILL LIKE ME, AND LIKE WHAT I DO ---
I have to hold a position that reflects the dignity of the school. If I am going to tell my students that you should not fight unless you have to, that if the bully is talking than just walk the other way. If I am going to say this to my students, than that is the action that I will reflect from the school too.
Fighting is always the last answer, only fight if you have too, and these kids are talking to a computer, they are not here on the mats, they are talking to a webcam all over the world. I spend my time training, teaching and dedicating myself to the study of the arts. That is all. None of this online hate and slander has anything to do with being a good person or helping myself, my family, my friends, the school or my students in anyway at all.

A Vision for Oneness
We envision a world where we understand on an individual level that we are all truly One at the higher levels of consciousness. This vision allows each of us to realize that even though we may appear to be separate from each other in a physical sense, in ultimate reality everything in existence is made up of Source Energy that is in relationship to and interacts with all of life.
We envision a world where we understand that we are all one in our collective consciousness as well. We see a world where we consciously co-create a new world model through this collective consciousness using the concept of Oneness as a critical component of our creative abilities as a global community.
This Vision of Oneness is the catalyst for each of us to individually take responsibility for our own thoughts, words and actions and thereby everything that we create into our lives. As we envision the concept of being one with all things seen and unseen we revel in the idea that everything we do in life has an effect on all of life as a whole and we therefore happily create the highest good for ourselves and for all others.
As a result we see a world where every person realizes that the best way to serve themselves is to serve all others because in the biggest scheme of life we are all One. The Golden Rule pervades our relationships and life choices as we realize totally and completely that what we do for others we are actually doing for ourselves and what we do for ourselves affects all of existence.

Below, is a in depth documentary on Wing Chun Kung Fu. I like this Documentary, because it covers much of the empty-hand part of the art and shows how the principles of wing chun not only help in fighting, but in daily life as well.

"Wing Chun" - a documentary sponsored by Shui On Land. The film shows how we can use Wing Chun and its philosophy to improve our daily life, as well as investigating its claims to be scientifically based.
Made in Hong Kong, China and Macau by an international production team, the documentary was directed by Seamus Walsh and produced by Bill Yip.
The film's narrator is Vincent Lo Hong Sui, Chairman of Shui On Land, who shares his story of how Wing Chun has informed both his business and personal life, helping him to become one of Hong Kong's most successful businessmen.
The star of the film is Master Lui Ming Fai, a student of Master Ho Kam Ming and descendant of the Great Grandmaster of Wing Chun, Ip Man. Master Lui takes us through the forms of Wing Chun as well as sharing his insight on it's elegance and practicality. The scientific testing of Wing Chun is provided by Dr. Justin Lee of Chinese University of Hong Kong.
