GOOD MORNING!!! AND HAPPY WINTER SOLSTICE!!!

I was going to title this blog, OH SHIT, IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD!!!!!!!!, but THAT'S NOT TRUE AT ALL, and besides, I used that title like 3 times already.

What is true, is that Today, at exactly 3:11 AM Pacific Standard Time, is the Winter Solstice. The Winter Solstice is the time at which the Sun is appearing at noon at its lowest altitude above the horizon. In the Northern Hemisphere this is the Southern solstice, the time at which the Sun is at its southernmost point in the sky, which usually occurs on December 21 to 22 each year.

In the Southern Hemisphere this is the Northern solstice, the time at which the Sun is at its northernmost point in the sky, which usually occurs on June 20 to 21 each year.
The axial tilt of Earth and gyroscopic effects of the planet's daily rotation keep the axis of rotation pointed at the same point in the sky. As the Earth follows its orbit around the Sun, the same hemisphere that faced away from the Sun, experiencing winter, will, in half a year, face towards the Sun and experience summer. Since the two hemispheres face opposite directions along the planetary pole, as one polar hemisphere experiences winter, the other experiences summer.

In other words, where I'm living, it's the first day of winter.

This Winter Solstice is a very special one, What with everything that's been said about the Mayan Predictions, etc. Hell, there was even A MOVIE MADE ABOUT IT. And for those of you numbnuts who ACTUALLY THINK the world is going to end, be destroyed, or whatever, the picture below is for you.

So, What do I think is going to happen? Well, I'll post this old episode of SPIRIT SCIENCE that gives an explanation of what will happen that makes sense to me.

Well, I hope so. I can't say that this is going to happen. The people at SPIRIT SCIENCE aren't totally sure either...



This is the dawn of a new era and the one we as a species have been waiting for. It is the time frame that marks the end of the old hierarchical, competitive and success oriented approach to life and marks the beginning of a new relationship, cooperative and community oriented cycle. Of course won't happen overnight, we must take advantage of this time through our attention and focus. If we plant the seeds right, a beautiful and wonderous growth will follow.



Now,We're about 5 days from christmas, so you know I gotta post some more christmas music... So, here it is.
