New Year's eve is like every other night; there is no pause in the march of the universe, no breathless moment of silence among created things that the passage of another twelve months may be noted; and yet no man has quite the same thoughts this evening that come with the coming of darkness on other nights. ~Hamilton Wright Mabie

This year, I had my ups and downs... This Year, some special people came into my life(You know who you are)and I'm very thankful for that, and throughout the year, there was talk about the end of the Mayan Calender and everything to do with it...

Anyway, with all this talk about new Year's Eve,let's not forget that TODAY IS MONDAY, my favorite day of the week, so here's another episode from Anthony de Mello's Awareness series. Watch all the episodes in order at http://awareness.tk

Today is the 6th day of Kwanzaa.

For those who don't know what kwanzaa is, it was established in 1966 by Ron Karenga.

Kwanzaa aims to reconnect black Americans to their African roots and recognize their struggles as a people by building community. It is observed from Dec. 26 to Jan. 1 annually.

Derived from the Swahili term, “matunda ya kwanza,” which means “first-fruits,” Kwanzaa is based on African harvest celebrations such as the seven-day Umkhost of Zululand. Kwanzaa was created out of the philosophy of Kawaida, which is a cultural nationalist philosophy that argues that the key challenge in black people’s lives is the challenge of culture, and that what Africans must do is to discover and bring forth the best of their culture, both ancient and current, and use it as a foundation to bring into being models of human excellence and possibilities to enrich and expand our lives.”

Just as many African harvest celebrations run for seven days, Kwanzaa has seven principles known as the Nguzo Saba. They are: umoja (unity); kujichagulia (self-determina tion); ujima (collective work and responsibility) ; ujamaa (cooperative economics); nia (purpose); kuumba (creativity); and imani (faith). During Kwanzaa celebrations,a mkeka (straw mat) rests ona table covered by kente cloth, or another African fabric. On top of the mkeka sits a kinara (candleholder) in which the mishumaa saba (seven candles) go. The colors of Kwanzaa are black for the people, red for their struggle, and green for the future and hope that comes from their struggle. “The principles of Kwanzaa and the message of Kwanzaa has a universal message for all people of good will. It is rooted in African culture, and we speak as Africans must speak, not just to ourselves, but to the world.

Now to be honest, I've NEVER celebrated kwanzaa in my life, and most black people I know have never celebrated it either, so I'm by no means an expert on Kwanzaa. However, if you want to know more what Kwanzaa is about, I've posted 2 You Tube videos below which covers that subject in a pretty thoroughly.

PART 2

Now to end, let me start off the day with my most favorite song in the whole world...

This song was written and performed by my dear friend DANNI EL, a very special lady, and an awesome singer and musician, as you can see above. I haven't seen her in 8 months, but I do hope to see her again very soon.

According to the Bible, Jesus came back from the dead and walked the earth for 40 days before ascending to heaven. But the New Testament reveals little about this defining miracle of the Christian faith. Using tools of history, technology, science and faith, HISTORY tells the little-known story. Long-buried non-Biblical sources, such as the Gospel of Thomas, the Gospel of Mary Magdalene, the Secret Revelation of John and the writings of the Jewish historian Josephus yield astonishing information and detail about these seemingly lost 40 days. Could Jesus' words in these ancient manuscripts contain some of his most important teachings, even though they were not included in the New Testament? The producers also build upon the CGI image of the crucified Christ created from the Shroud of Turin in The Real Face of Jesus to visually depict the moments when Jesus appears to his followers in resurrected form.

A good relationship is when someone accepts your past, supports your present and encourages your future.

And now, we have another episode of ASK TEAL.

Video Description taken from Youtube:

Published on Dec 29, 2012
Today's Ask Teal episode is about: Sickness.
From an energetic perspective, illness is a toxicity crisis. It occurs when a person has been focused negatively, and that negative focus causes the energy flow through the body to become restricted. The buildup of that largely low vibrational energy causes a cascade of events to manifest physically, such as a shrinking thymus gland, which leads to an impaired immune system. This buildup of low vibrational energy that is not flowing causes the body to not being able to rid itself of the toxins that are normally filtered out through the body. Because this in turn causes the cells in the body to weaken and start to die, this environment becomes the perfect environment for bacteria and viruses to thrive. They are opportunists. And thus, infection occurs. Once the body's tolerance level for toxicity is reached, you start to see symptoms crop up like pain and mucous build up, sneezing and vomiting and fevers. These symptoms are the result of the body stimulating the organs of elimination and the immune system to move into defense mode. Unless you eliminate the factors that led up to this buildup of toxicity in the first place, they will accumulate gain and you will experience another toxicity crisis (in other words, you will get sick again). Healing requires that we
1. Trust in your body and in yourself
2. That you have profound conviction that you deserve to be healthy
And remember don't go back to doing what you were doing before you got sick. Sickness always means there needs to be a change in the way you were thinking and the things you were doing before you reached the healing crisis that we call "illness". The faster you can change or eliminate those underlying factors, the faster you will heal and not suffer a recurrence. In this video, Teal shares some suggestions for what to do when you get sick so that you can consciously enable your body to get well quickly.

December 21, 2012 is an extremely important time for us to realize our true connection with the universe. If this is the moment of Planetary Ascension then we must realize that God Realized ascension is quickly possible with divine love. Divine love is our true experience connection with all of existence. In the age of Kali Yuga & the Age of Aquarius merging with the divine through our hearts is the natural path of enlightenment. Divine love is simple and anyone anywhere can achieve enlightenment through divine love. Divine love does not require a technique but rather an attunement. Yoga leads to divine love, meditation leads to divine love and also the drastic shift of your perception can lead to Divine Love. The mind is not the enemy of enlightenment, however the direction of your mind rather is the key to enlightenment, salvation, Ascension, or self-realization. The best way to guide the mind is to transcend it. You cant guide a river by rafting down it. You must guide your mind by using the source which it is attracted to. In the case of Prema Vedanta (Love Knowledge) , love is the attraction force and a clear heart is the generator. Thanks for reading.

They judge you now, but they will need you someday. They ignore you now, but they will chase you someday. That’s life. Sometimes you don’t give someone a reason to dislike you; they just do it out of pure insecurities. You can’t share your blessings with everyone because a lot of people just hate to see you doing better than them. If they talk bad about you, make sure your smile is bigger and brighter when they’re around

Now, it's time for another episode of Angel Academy. This episode is about overcoming sickness:

If we understood the power of our thoughts, we would guard them more closely. If we understood the awesome power of our words, we would prefer silence to almost anything negative. In our thoughts and words we create our own weaknesses and our own strengths. Our limitations and joys begin in our hearts. We can always replace negative with positive. ~ Bettie Eadie (from 'Embraced By the Light') ~

Everyone just needs ONE day. One day to let go. A day to not worry. One day to be creative. A day to be sad, and a day to be happy. Everyone just needs one day to put that smile on their face and let their dreams come true. Its funny how one day can do so much...

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Christmas - that magic blanket that wraps itself about us, that something so intangible that it is like a fragrance. It may weave a spell of nostalgia. Christmas may be a day of feasting, or of prayer, but always it will be a day of remembrance - a day in which we think of everything we have ever loved. - Augusta E. Rundel

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!!!

CHRISTMAS IS FINALLY HERE!!! But what is Christmas? What are it's traditions? Well, I posted this History Channel documentary below which gives a pretty good answer to this question.

However, if you're a bookworm like me, you might want to click HERE.

At Christmas play and make good cheer, For Christmas comes but once a year - Thomas Tusser

For me, christmas is one of the few times of the year when My whole family gets together to eat, exchange presents, and tell christmas stories. And that is what I'm gonna do today at my sister's house.

and speaking of stories, this one, Twas The Night Before Christmas, is my favorite. It was first published anonymously in 1823 and generally attributed to Clement Clarke Moore, although the claim has also been made that it was written by Henry Livingston, Jr.

TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, In hopes that St Nicholas soon would be there.

The children were nestled all snug in their beds, While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads. And mamma in her ‘kerchief, and I in my cap, Had just settled our brains for a long winter’s nap.

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter, I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter. Away to the window I flew like a flash, Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below. When, what to my wondering eyes should appear, But a miniature sleigh, and eight tinny reindeer.

With a little old driver, so lively and quick, I knew in a moment it must be St Nick. More rapid than eagles his coursers they came, And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!

"Now Dasher! now, Dancer! now, Prancer and Vixen! On, Comet! On, Cupid! on, on Donner and Blitzen! To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall! Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!"

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly, When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky. So up to the house-top the coursers they flew, With the sleigh full of Toys, and St Nicholas too.

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof The prancing and pawing of each little hoof. As I drew in my head, and was turning around, Down the chimney St Nicholas came with a bound.

He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot, And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot. A bundle of Toys he had flung on his back, And he looked like a peddler, just opening his pack.

His eyes-how they twinkled! his dimples how merry! His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry! His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow, And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow.

The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth, And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath. He had a broad face and a little round belly, That shook when he laughed, like a bowlful of jelly!

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf, And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself! A wink of his eye and a twist of his head, Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread.,br>
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work, And filled all the stockings, then turned with a jerk. And laying his finger aside of his nose, And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose!

He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle, And away they all flew like the down of a thistle. But I heard him exclaim, ‘ere he drove out of sight, "Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!"

The Gift of Christmas is a precious reminder that we are loved!

When I was growing up, we also watched a lot of movies and cartoons in the weeks leading to christmas, and on christmas day. Here's some of my favorites:

MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET

A CHRISTMAS CAROL

MICKEY'S ONCE UPON A CHRISTMAS

RUDOLPH THE RED NOSE REINDEER

FROSTY THE SNOWMAN

But my favorite thing of all time to watch on christmas has to be, "IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE" with James Stewart (although I usually watch it in black and white).

Peace on Earth and Joy to all with love

O.K., I admit it, that was my SECOND favorite thing to watch... my all time FAVORITE thing to watch was, and still is, "HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS" the cartoon from 1966.

CLICK HERE TO WATCH THE FULL CARTOON

And this is my favorite song from that Cartoon. "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch" is a Christmas song that was originally written and composed for the 1966 cartoon special How the Grinch Stole Christmas. The lyrics were written by Theodor "Dr. Seuss" Geisel, the music was composed by Albert Hague, and the song was performed by Thurl Ravenscroft.

Here's the Lyrics:

You're a mean one Mr Grinch
You really are a heel
You're as cuddly as a cactus
You're as charming as an eel
Mr. Grinch
You're a bad banana with a greasy black peel

You're a monster Mr. Grinch
Your Hearts an empty hole
Your brain is full of spiders
You've got garlic in your soul Mr. Grinch
I wouldn't touch you with a
39 and a half Foot pole

You're a vile one Mr. Grinch
You have termites in your smile
You have all the tender sweetness of a seasick crocodile
Mr. Grinch
Given the choice between the two of you
I'd take the a seasick crocodile

You're a foul one Mr. Grinch
You're a nasty wasty skunk
Your heart is full of unwashed socks,
Your soul is full of gunk
Mr. Grinch
,br> The 3 words that best describe you, are as follows, and I quote
Stink, Stank, Stonk

You're a rotter Mr. Grinch
You're the king of sinful sots
Your hearts a dead tomato splotched with moldy purple spots
Mr. Grinch

Your sole is an appalling dump heap
Overflowing with the most disgraceful
Assortment of deplorable rubbish
Imaginable, mangled up in tangled up knots

You nauseate me, Mr. Grinch
With a nauseous super naus
You're a crooked jerky jockey and,
you drive a crooked horse
Mr. Grinch

You're a 3 Decker sour kraut and toad stool sandwich
With arsenic sauce!

And the Grinch, with his Grinch-feet ice cold in the snow, stood puzzling and puzzling, how could it be so? It came without ribbons. It came without tags. It came without packages, boxes or bags. And he puzzled and puzzled 'till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before. What if Christmas, he thought, doesn't come from a store. What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more. - Dr. Seuss

And now, for some christmas music. Here are some of my favorite Christmas Songs... I hope you enjoy them.

AMY GRANT BREATH OF HEAVEN

FELIZ NAVIDAD

CAMPANOS BE BELEN

Are you willing to believe that love is the strongest thing in the world - stronger than hate, stronger than evil, stronger than death - and that the blessed life which began in Bethlehem nineteen hundred years ago is the image and brightness of the Eternal Love? Then you can keep Christmas. - Henry Van Dyke

May all of you have the spirit of Christmas which is Peace, the gladness of Christmas which is Hope, and the Heart of Christmas which is Love

Open your eyes to the beauty around you, open your mind to the wonders of life, open your heart to those who love you, and always be true to yourself

YES! IT'S CHRISTMAS EVE!!! And since it's Christmas Eve, I'm gonna show you one of my favorite CLASSIC Christmas Films, Scrooged, from 1970.

VIDEO DESCRIPTION TAKEN FROM YOU TUBE:

Uploaded on Dec 24, 2011
This is the CLASSIC version of Scrooge with Albert Finney which was the BEST Scrooge ever released! Why they don't show it on TV anymore is completely baffling! Watch in its entirety if you choose to.
If you feel like just watching the ending (but I would strongly suggest watching the whole thing), go to about the 1 hour 40 minute mark and watch the finale which is about 10 minutes, especially the part with Scrooge and Tiny Tim & the carousel scene and the choreography sequence that follows.

For people who remember this when it was released in 1970, THIS is a timeless classic! This was a musical version.

If you haven't seen these others, Check out the 1951 Alistair Sim version or George C Scott version from 1984. 2 different concepts, but all of these are excellent movies!

NOTE: This movie has the hell scene! TV stations would edit it out!!...NOT HERE! :) None of the other versions of this do that, which was an original adaptation from the book! Very tastefully put together though. Safe for young viewers too!

For the newbies born after that who are used to the internet, CGI, bots, scripting, flash in the pan things that are "here today and gone tomorrow" and anything before the word "computer" came to life, watch and see how a REAL movie was made!

NO digital effects, NO digital photography. Gifted actors that didn't end up in jail or on a tabloid magazine for illicit things they have done (versus what you read about today). Watch and see the entire finale and choreography done in one take for the last 10 minutes of the movie at the end!!!! You cant say that about any movies made today!

A movie about giving back to others. Wouldn't it be great if banks and high paid executives who don't like sharing with others learned the message in this movie! May the same be said of us to give back to others not only on December 25th, but year round!

This is what CHRISTMAS is all about!

Lose the greed...Pay it forward...and MERRY CHRISTMAS!

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!!!

It occurred to me then that it was in times of struggle that I found the best parts of myself – courage, loyalty, an unexpected peace – and I always discovered what I needed to break through and go on. ~Patrick Carman

Well, it's Sunday, which means it's time for another SUNDAY SCHOOL VIDEO.
Since Christmas is 3 days away, I decided to add this short video of Breath of Heaven by Amy Grant with some scenes from The Nativity Story, released in 2007, which depicts The NATIVITY OF JESUS.

And... I also decided to post a link the full movie too! Just click below to watch it... THE NATIVITY STORY

Now it's time for some more Christmas Music... This was a flash mob done a few days ago in Santa Monica. Enjoy!

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!!!

"Apocalypse means simply 'to reveal'. MUCH is now, has been and will be coming to the surface in this phase of life on Earth and beyond. Stop whining about nothing happening...it rings of boredom in a WILD world. Disclosure is speeding up and there's nothing that can stop it. Dates can be symbolic and meaningful for people but they can also be rather absurd. It's TIME to perceive TIME differently. People radically over-associate the 'end of time' with the end of the world. Consider rewiring your subconsciousness to view time as multi-dimensional rather than linear. ENJOY your experience here and make things happen, don't expect them to." -Home

I had decided that after YESTERDAY'S POST, I wasn't going to type or post anything else about 2012... Well I changed my mind. I'm going to post about more things that I believe will help encourage everyone to make our world a better place... and that includes the subject of 2012.

And on that note, here's a video made by Teal Scott from THE SPIRITUAL CATALYST, and David Jordan from THE SPIRIT SCIENCE talking about 2012.

And now, since today is Saturday, Here's another amazing episode of Ask Teal. This episode is about Christmas.

Published on Dec 22, 2012
The subject of today's Ask Teal video is: Christmas
In this episode, Teal provides the listener with a lesson about the history of Christmas. She also reveals the truth about Santa Clause. Teal then she goes on to address the question of what parents should tell their children about Santa Clause.
There is nothing "wrong" with telling children Santa exists... remember this is a non-judgmental universe
But... making up a story about Santa delivering presents when we, the parents are doing it, does not suit our relationships with our children. We perpetuate disappointment in our children.
Children are capable of understanding much more than we give them credit for... According to Teal, it is better to tell them the truth... And so, here's the truth about Santa clause...
Thought forms can temporarily manifest and they can influence people to do things... so Santa is as real as demons and angels are real. Humanity can't focus as intensely on a thought like we have on Santa and not create him. So, the Christmas Spirit is very real.
Teal also reveals what she tells her own son about Santa Clause. Teal tells us also that instead of being drug along by Christmas unwillingly, we should decide if we are going to participate in it and if the answer is yes, find things to focus on and things to do that cause us to feel positive emotion. In other words, to do things that cause us to find alignment with the beautiful things that Christmas is really representative of.

If you want to make your dreams come true, the first thing you have to do is wake up.

Now it's time for some more Christmas Music...

Flocking to Mexico to Mark Mayan Calendar End

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!

I choose to create a joyful story in THIS moment.
~Jonathan-Lockwood Huie

GOOD MORNING!!! AND HAPPY WINTER SOLSTICE!!!

I was going to title this blog, OH SHIT, IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD!!!!!!!!, but THAT'S NOT TRUE AT ALL, and besides, I used that title like 3 times already.

What is true, is that Today, at exactly 3:11 AM Pacific Standard Time, is the Winter Solstice. The Winter Solstice is the time at which the Sun is appearing at noon at its lowest altitude above the horizon. In the Northern Hemisphere this is the Southern solstice, the time at which the Sun is at its southernmost point in the sky, which usually occurs on December 21 to 22 each year.

In the Southern Hemisphere this is the Northern solstice, the time at which the Sun is at its northernmost point in the sky, which usually occurs on June 20 to 21 each year.
The axial tilt of Earth and gyroscopic effects of the planet's daily rotation keep the axis of rotation pointed at the same point in the sky. As the Earth follows its orbit around the Sun, the same hemisphere that faced away from the Sun, experiencing winter, will, in half a year, face towards the Sun and experience summer. Since the two hemispheres face opposite directions along the planetary pole, as one polar hemisphere experiences winter, the other experiences summer.

In other words, where I'm living, it's the first day of winter.

This Winter Solstice is a very special one, What with everything that's been said about the Mayan Predictions, etc. Hell, there was even A MOVIE MADE ABOUT IT. And for those of you numbnuts who ACTUALLY THINK the world is going to end, be destroyed, or whatever, the picture below is for you.

So, What do I think is going to happen? Well, I'll post this old episode of SPIRIT SCIENCE that gives an explanation of what will happen that makes sense to me.

Or, In Other Words...

Well, I hope so. I can't say that this is going to happen. The people at SPIRIT SCIENCE aren't totally sure either...

This is the dawn of a new era and the one we as a species have been waiting for. It is the time frame that marks the end of the old hierarchical, competitive and success oriented approach to life and marks the beginning of a new relationship, cooperative and community oriented cycle. Of course won't happen overnight, we must take advantage of this time through our attention and focus. If we plant the seeds right, a beautiful and wonderous growth will follow.

Now,We're about 5 days from christmas, so you know I gotta post some more christmas music... So, here it is.

GOOD MORNING!!!

Yesterday, I posted a video from the ANGEL ACADEMY series about Living in the Heart. But What is the Heart? I thought the best way to answer that question by re-posting an old episode of SPIRIT SCIENCE that deals with this very subject.

Video Description from You Tube:

Published on Apr 30, 2012
If you enjoy this, one of the most amazing resources is the book Living in the Heart. Check it out! : http://thespiritscience.net/spirit/livingintheheart

As science looks more and more at the human body with greater technology, we have begun to come full circle in understanding what the ancients knew about the heart, the brain, and divine consciousness. What is the heart? Is it more than just a pump for blood? Or could the truth about its power be related to the essence of your entire being, and have a field of energy so great that it can transform not just your own being into that of light, love and happiness, but even those around you. What is the shining light of the heart, and how can you access it and gain the inner knowing of who you are and why you are here?

Produced by Spirit Science
Animated by Spirit Patch
Colouring by The Atlantis King

Music by Oliver Gregory, Jahon Mikal, Tilkanauts, and Matteo Penna. Thank you so much for sending us music to use in these videos!!

This video was produced out of love for you and the entire human species, please help us share it with as many people as possible to maximize human ascension and get the information to as many people as possible :)

Namaste, we love you with the full essence of our hearts!

GOOD MORNING!!!

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow. Melody Beattie

It's time for another episode of ANGEL ACADEMY... This episode is about living from the heart. The heart is a huge part of the transformation into self realization. Ascension can only fully take place from the state of True love, Self realization, or Unity Consciousness. In the video below, Kristopher Love and some special guests will be talking about living from our hearts.

Now, Since it's less than a week before christmas, I'm gonna be posting up some christmas songs for your listening pleasure. First up is Moses vs Santa Claus, from Epic Rap Battles of History Season 2.

HAPPY TUESDAY!!!

I Cheat Death by Enjoying Life.
~Jonathan-Lockwood Huie

GOOD MORNING!!! Well, I said before that Monday is my favorite day of the week... And yesterday turned out to be a great day indeed! Good times are here again!

To dream Is to let the fantasies flow through, To fly through clouds of cotton candy, And to sigh in Love at the end of the day ♥

Anyway, Today's Tuesday, and I have to tell you guys about a MARTIAL ART THAT I WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT... And Today, that art is a Malaysian Martial Art named SILAT TUA (Also referred to as Silat Pattani).

BUT FIRST, let's start the day off with DIAMANTE, by ZUCCHERO.

Now, back to Silat Tua.

Originally from Pattani, Silat Tua has spread throughout the Malaysian peninsula, especially on the island of Penang where guru Zainal Abidin, the master of this school of silat, resides.

Guru Zainal Abidin (co-author of Silat Tua: The Malay Dance of Life) is a martial artist who is lineage holder in several Silat systems, and also a lineage holder in a family system of Classical Thai Martial Arts.

This is an Interview with Zainal Abideen by Salim Badat for the Combat Journal. To go to the original article, Click HERE.

Please tell us of your martial arts background and who were your teachers?
I started MA when I was 15years old with TKD in school with Master khoo Teiik Hin and at the same time started training with My Uncle in the same village in Silat known as Siku 12, his name was Ahmad Hamden..I started MA with the encouragement of my late father who was an amateur Boxer to lose weight as I was overweight and also at that time in the 60s racial strife and riots were common in the state of Poenang, Malaysia and my father wanted us to be able to defend ourseleves. I was very keen on Silat when I was growing up in JB the southern state of Malaysia but had no opportunity to learn then. My father also brought a Teacher from the state of Perak to my home to teach me and my elder brothers the art of Silat Lintar..I was at that time learning at every chance that I got. i was introduced to Moi Thai by visiting freinds from south Thailand and learned formally from a Teacher in Penang who was knowned as Speedy Ahmad...The Silat Gayong Serirama was also introduced to our school and I became a student and eventually a Coach within 2 years most probably due to my other MA training and was requested by my Teacher to teach the Gayung Serirama at a Technical school. I started coolege in 1974 and moved to Kuala lumpur and there i continued learning silat from a Javanese teacher Mohd Judi hj Hassan in the system of Depoowojo and also learned from a Teacher the harimau style aknown as Pendekar Husni. I was lucky in the sense all my Teachers liked me and completed the training and was requested to represent their schools and systems but at that time I was more confident in Moi Thai and Siku 12 then Silat as I felt that iwas good in defence but poor in attack..I continued training in Moi Thai under a Chinese teacher who was also the trainer for the Malaysian Chinese Pugilistic Association a Mr Yong for manymore years until 1984 when I had to work in the Northern East coast state of Kelantan ordering Thailand..I took the opportunity to learn and practiced Moi Thai withWan Yaacob and his brother Wan Anuar of bachok Kelantan and enter Thailand whenever I was free to spar and trained with a boxer named Boon who later introdeuced me to Arjan Khao Kruasatoi of Prae Thailand and entered a competition and won against a Lao Boxer Panya Satee..it was aregional competition nothing big but it gave me the confidence that I was doing it right in Moi Thai..I fell in love with Arjan Khao's sister who were all Buddhists and requested her hand for marriage when the family consentedI brought her back to South Thailand to convert to Islam under the guidance of an Imam Sheikh Abdul Aziz Abdulllah who was also a Silkat teacher. He asked me why I did not do Silat asthat was my heritage, I told him m opinion about Silat and he requested me to play with him and the rest washistory..I relearned everything from him and began to understand Silat as the way it should be..My background in Moi Thai was a plus off course.

What makes the style of silat tua yawi unique?
The Silat Tua Jawi was unique in the sense that we do not depend on our weight class to match an opponent unlike MOI THAI where you fight within your weight class...It was also a case in other Silat where your size and built would put you on an advantage...The sciences of the Art would enable you to face a bigger opponent and the stepping, the Tapak to move out of an attack and to counter are all ancient practice that makes it good..In silat tua we first work with the elements and our body have to change and be the element of EARTH WATER FIRE & WIND and the sub element of STONE WOOD & IRON!!!

Is there a spiritual dimension to the art that you practice?
There is spiritual dimension in our silat as we do zikir and do breathing with reciting the ISMA as well as Standing Muroqabah, Seating Muroqabah, Moving Muroqabah as some term it as Meditation. We also acknowledge the other dimension and learn to communicate with spiritual or invisible beings. We also learn poison not in the chemical sense but of the spiritual sense . All this will be thought subject to talking an oath of being a service to God & mankind and faithful to the lineage of our system. The objective is to come to the stage of realisation of the presence of GOD!

What is your forte in silat ?
My forte in Silat? Its more of the law of physics in applications of locks & throws and also the speed of blows in our Kuntao...this is with TARI and ANIMISTIC KUNTAO FORMS!

What is the progression in learning in silat tua yawi?
The progression of learning Silat Tua/Jawi depends on the understanding of the concepts and applications by the students..Like I mentioned, we start with the elements, the langkah the tapak, the blows, the locks the throws , Tari ....etc..on the average for beginners it would take more or less 3 years but for those that have martial at experience it is less. The time frame mentioned is just to be comfortable and to be able to apply the concepts effectively in any circumstances..

What is your favourite weapon of choice?
My weapon of choice is the BELATI or the WALI, these are knives and I am also at ease with the Keris...Some of the weapons that we trained with are different to the more common ones, our KARAMBIT is bigger and we trained with a pair and it is called GENGAM RABIT...WE TRAINED WITH BOTH HANDS to be ready for any eventualities as we hope to be equally good with both hands as far as weapons are concern.

What is your teaching methodology.
I follow the same system as My Teacher in so far as methodology..repeating each new technique again and again and we go by numbers and hours..test and retest our students on their capablity of the techniques...and sometimes gave them a surprise test with students of different forms..

How has your personal silat developed over the years?
Alhamdulillah...I am happy with what I am now and still feel that I am developing the understanding of the art in a deeper sense! Where are you based?
I am based in Georgetown, Pulau Pinang, malaysia..

Is there a connection between attaining mastery of a martial arts and social obligation?
Personally I believe it is separate but being of service to the community does develop humility and peaceful co-existance.

If foreigners wish to train with you how would they contact you?
If foreigners wish to train with me I am on facebook and also can be contacted through email....akusilah@yahoo.com MY H/p No is 014-3441299 Malaysia..

Do you do seminars abroad and are you open to the idea of doing seminars abroad if people wish to host you?
I have done seminars overseas before hosted by Zhong Ding in UK and did one seminar at BOB BREEN"s academy among a few in UK in 2007..and will be happy if being called or hosted to seminars anywhere

What are you future plans?
My future plans is to try and make known the system as much as possible as I believe it's a valuable heritage for mankind...I will be doing a seminar in Singapore in December and hope to go to the US middle of next year and hopefully UK too.

Now, here's a video of Guru Zainal performing with his students. And below the video, You will also see some students of Silat Tua in action:

Video description from You Tube:

Due to the recent mass killings and gun attacks in instances such as Columbine, Sikh Temple, The Dark Knight Rises and recently Newport, I interviewed several martial artist and officers today that just couldn't answer the distance gun point question. Sooooooooo, I posted this video to offer a possible solution. The situation should be simulated in drills to develop instinctive response.
,br> These days women and children must do these drills to prevent becoming a victim of domestic violence or public insanity...
Freezing in one place, begging for mercy is one of the worst things to do. If ever an attacker comes within arms reach, there are multiple tactics using variable intensity levels possible for self defense.

Please pass this video on to others and make it viral. The lessons in it may help saves lives... Please share your comments.

HAPPY MONDAY!!!

I celebrate my free-will.
~Jonathan-Lockwood Huie

GOOD MORNING!!!

Well, Today is Monday, the best day of the week... and on this blog, that means annother video from Anthony de Mello's Awareness Series. This week is part 39, Filtered Reality Parts a.& b. Here's 39 part a. A link to part b is below this video.

“Perfect love casts out fear. Where there is love there are no demands, no expectations, no dependency. I do not demand that you make me happy; my happiness does not lie in you. If you were to leave me, I will not feel sorry for myself; I enjoy your company immensely, but I do not cling.” ― Anthony de Mello, Awareness

I have forgiven mistakes that were indeed almost unforgivable. I’ve tried to replace people who were irreplaceable and tried to forget those who were unforgettable. I’ve acted on impulse, have been disappointed by people when I thought that this could never be possible. But I have also disappointed those who I love. I have laughed at inappropriate occasions. I’ve made friends that are now friends for life. I’ve screamed and jumped for joy. I’ve loved and I’ve been loved. But I have also been rejected and I have been loved without loving the person back. I’ve lived for love alone and made vows of eternal love. I’ve had my heart broken many, many times! I’ve cried while listening to music and looking at old pictures. I’ve called someone just to hear their voice on the other side. I have fallen in love with a smile. At times, I thought I would die because I missed someone so much. At other times, I felt very afraid that I might lose someone very special (which ended up happening anyway). But I have lived! And I still continue living everyday. I’m not just passing through life and you shouldn’t either… Live! The best thing in life is to go ahead with all your plans and your dreams, to embrace life and to live everyday with passion, to lose and still keep the faith and to win while being grateful. All of this because the world belongs to those who dare to go after what they want. And because life is really too short to be insignificant. ~♥~ Charlie Chaplin
