A SPECIAL MESSAGE TO A SPECIAL LADY

“Sometimes people are beautiful. Not in looks. Not in what they say. Just in what they are. ” ― Markus Zusak, I Am the Messenger

WASSUP FAMILY!!!

Let me introduce you to DANNI EL.

She is a very talented singer and musician, whom I've written about MANY TIMES .

Now, in case you're too lazy to use the blog's search engine, I'm gonna tell you how I met her.

It was April 16th, 2011. It was an ordinary enough Saturday, Nothing special about it. But I was about to learn, as the author Dan Millman discovered on a large rock one day, that THERE ARE NO ORDINARY MOMENTS.

I was walking down Hollywood Blvd. Close to Highland station, when I heard a very beautiful sound. I turned around on my heels, ans I saw this woman playing the sweetest music you ever heard.

Her voice was sweet, rich, textured. The song was poetry, original, from the heart. She was reserved, yet passionate at the same time. She was beautiful.

I remember standing there, stunned, literally stunned. It was like walking out from some dark, fetid storm drain and finding yourself in a sunlit meadow full of sweet grass. I had never dreamed that there was so much talent, so much beauty in this world.

I think it was in the last third part of her song that I fell in love... with the song.

And I became a big fan.

So big in fact, that I went home, TRACKED this woman down on facebook, You Tube, and Twitter, and took the 23 mile trip to Hollywood & Highland a few times a week, EVERY WEEK for about a month in the hope of hearing her play again.

I never get tired of telling that story, because simply, to me that event is what made a ordinary day to a MAGICKAL day, and as a direct result of what happened on that day, many, many positive things have come into my life.

Anyway, today I have a special Thanksgiving message for her.

Well, here we go.

Hi Danni,

How've you been? It's been a while.

Hey Danni, What is your favorite holiday? Mine is THANKSGIVING. Why? Well, it's NOT because of a Turkey dinner, or Pilgrims, & Indians.

To me, Thanksgiving is the 1 day of the year where we are reminded to give thanks, to have gratitude in our hearts. This is how I see Thanksgiving:

And in THAT spirit, this is my Thanksgiving message to you.

I deliberately waited till now, a couple of weeks after Turkey day, to send this to you. I hope you don't mind.

Danni, you have NO IDEA what effect meeting you has had on my life.

"Many years ago on this day, God decided to send an angel to earth. This angel was meant to touch lives, and in my humble opinion, God was not dissapointed!!!"

I sent you this message on your birthday, because basically, it's true. When people meet you, their lives get better. I'm sure we all got our stories about you, but I have a blog, so let me give you a small taste of how you've affected me.

Don't worry, I'm not gonna bore you with paragraph after paragraph of what knowing you has done for me.

What I AM gonna do, is show you these blogs I made about the wonderful year this was for me. If you read my blog, you might have read some of these already but, I'm posting them anyway.

O.K. Danni, Here we go.

Did you know that last May was the 1st time I went to WORLDFEST?

Oh, I guess I forgot to mention the bikini contest. They had one there every Saturday all summer long, I believe.

And August was also a very good month... Like my time at the Artwalk in Downtown L.A. I know you don't particularly like that place, but sometimes, they do have some nice things there.

Oh, and Danni, you remember this guy?

O.K., we both know you do, but in the ABSOLUTELY UNLIKELY case that you don't, here's something to jog your memory:

Anyway, guess what he's teaching me to play!?

That's right Danni, on Sundays, Charles teaches capoeira at Griffith Park, across the street from the golf course, near the Greek Theatre, on Vermont Canyon Road going up towards the Observatory...

He also teaches at THE AGAPE CENTER @ 5700 Buckingham Parkway Culver City, CA 90230 on Saturday mornings from 9:30 to 10:30.

I've been a student of his since the middle of september, and I love it!!!!

And Danni, Charles & I had a couple of adventures together too...

When you click on the 2nd link, you'll read about a special event called, "COLOUR MY ENERGY". It happens at a place called STELLA LUNA YOGA in Cypress, Ca. on the 1st Saturday of every month, and I think it might be a good place for you and Jessica to perform at, and be a part of.

So, what is Colour my energy? Well...

And this is usually what happens at Colour My Energy:

And here's a post I made about the road trip we took last Saturday, among other things...

Well Danni, as you can see, I posted links to a LOT of blog posts, detailing things I did this year (there are more, but you have to read my blog for them).

Why did I go to all this trouble? Because I wanted you to see all the beautiful souls I met, and the experiences I had. And Danni, I want you to know,

If I haven't met you Danni, I would have NEVER met these people, or gone to these places, nor would I be learning capoeira.
AND FOR THAT, I'M TRULY GRATEFUL

SO THANK YOU DANNI, FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART.

And Danni, don't think I'm not still KEEPING MY PROMISE...

Now I KNOW that there are many more people out there whose lives were touched by your loving spirit... The difference between them and me is, well, I have a blog.

The Gathering at the KATHMANDU BOUTIQUE is this Monday. Since I have to work that day, I probably won't get there till around 8 or 9 p.m. I don't know if you're gonna be there, but I hope I see you, whether you're playing or not.

Well Danni, I gotta go now. PEACE, AND MUCH LOVE.

Your Fan, Para Siempre,

John

P.S. Charles says Wassup!

And now, as always, I'm gonna end this blog with the most beautiful song in the world. You know, it's funny how listening to a song can change your life...
